In reality, all along i thought this team was a 10-6 ,at best..then I bought into all the Favre hype and the 8-3 record even knowing this team looked like crap in some of those wins. I think the fact that this list exists says something about being a fan of this team. The misery is never-ending.
the doug brien and fake spike were definitely worse than this. the fake spike killed 2 1/2 seasons todays game was meaningless. ravens murdered jax so it was either miami or ne. either way we end the season pissed off.

I wanted to put in the Denver loss but ommited it as it was the last really good season, as a whole, we had in a long time..But I remember shutting off the sound as to stop hearing about how great Elway was the whole second half. The Namath one was bad because the Jets were actually still a good team and he had just come back from a wrist injury from the 70 season. 75 was supposed to be a good year, cause we won like our last 7 in 74..ah, but Joe could not really move anymore and the Jets O line was let to rot, and I think 75 was the year we had that guy from Notre Dame, Holtz. Don't be too hard on Mangini, this season was on the players. I think Eric knows footbal, no doubt, but motivation...not so sure. Unless we get Cowher, I'm for giving Mangini another shot but wonder who the QB will be, Brett faded away as a lot of old QB's do. He is old, hurt and tired now.
I could come up with a laundry list but I'll keep it short..... Dennis Byrd still ranks number 1, I was a teenager and I was at the game and the magnitude of what happened that day still gives me nightmares. He was an inspiration to so many people but to watch him be carted off the field thinking he may never walk again or worse is a pretty scary thing. The Vinny injury was bad, that was our year and it was over before it even started. It's a shame Parcells really had no backup plan because had Glen Foley still been around I think we still would have been a very good team, as it was Ray Lucas did an admirable job but he was put in place too little too late. 86- Cleveland Doug Brien Game Jeff Lageman, Blair Thomas, Kyle Brady, Vernon Gholston Mud Bowl Blowtite Hackett too many to even list........
Hearing Paul Maguire say the Jets would not win another game in '86 and knowing in my heart it was true just because the Jets are the Jets will always be my worst moment. Tied for second is every single Mangini post game press conference.

Let me throw one in from long ago - the playoff loss at home to KC in '69. KC went on to beat the Vikes in the SB - if we win that game the Jets win it all IMHO. They were down 13 - 7 and had the ball 1st and goal at the 1 - ran Boozer (why not Snell) into the line 4 times and were stuffed. KC won 13 - 7. That one still hurts, and was the begininng of 40 years of pain.

Why am I still a fan again?
Hey steviep, if I remember correctly, wasn't that interception by a player who was bobbling the ball on his back as half of his body was laying out of bounds and they still called it an int?! Wow, I can't believe I still remember that :/
