    2 touchdowns/9 interceptions

    QB Ratiings:
    60.9
    60.8
    61.4
    48.7
    45.1

We were 8-3 before Favre crapped out. I know it seems like it's the cool thing to do blame the season on Mangini, but Favre is the main reason why we won't be playing next week. He ruined what could have been a great season.

The team had no pass rush. How many times to we sack the qb?

No question the team has other issues, but if Favre doesn't turn the ball over 9 times we probably 11 games. The team had serious flaws but Favre went from playing great to absolutely horrible.

Thats correct. After week 12 his QB rating was close to 100. Then for some reason he just ran out of gas and the jets went down in flames. You can blame mangini, but farve is more responsible for the collapse.

At least someone agrees. The blind hatred for Mangini is really starting to bother me.

The second half of the NE game wrote the gameplan on how to beat us. Tennessee was not a team that could execute that game plan. Denver finished us off and our coaches made no decisions. You heard Simms today talk about how secondaries just press us and we have no answer to it. Blame Favre if you want, but take a look at the other team, you were probably blaming Chad last year. It is the scheme and coaches.

Scheme and coaching causes Favre to throw 9 picks? How about the three picks today? Were they in the game plan?

No the HC takes the blame because if he was that bad they should have made other arrangements to help this team win, and they did not. They let Favre trot back out there and throw 35 times a game instead of running the football, which seemed to be the real strength of the offense.

Other arrangements? Thomas Jones had 10 carries for 23 yards. Leon was more effective but not to the point where if we had ran the ball 35 times it would have made a difference.

Oh yes I'm sure your the most informed. So every time they get in 2nd and 8 or 2nd and 7 should they just keep running it for 2 yards? You can control the clock if you don't the F$CKING BALL OVER SO MUCH. They aren't consistently running the ball well because teams are loading up to stop the run because they want Favre throwing the ball as much as possible.

Should they run 3 times and punt?

What!?!?!?! Leading rusher in the AFC with over 1000 yards and they aren't consistent? Are you watching the same team i watched? Thomas Jones Had over 100 in the 3rd quarted against Denver. Please stop posting. You do not know what you are talking about.

Probably the reason #1 for that is that he missed all offseason preparation.
He had never strenght and conditioning for the whole season.

I disagree with Mangini's part. With that talent level on the roster he should have done better than Miami. They were coached up like Cassel, we were coached downhill, unable to react and adjust.

Longtime Packer fan here. I've been a Favre supporter for years, but his time has come. I wanted to point something out. It's not the coaching or the "injury" to Favre that caused him to fall off the planet at the end of the year. Favre has run out of gas for the last 4 years. It started in 2005. I'm really surprised no one has mentioned this before.

Here are his stats for the last 6 games of each year:

Date - Attempt, Completions, Yards, TD, Int, QB Rating

    2005:
    11/27 - 15 Att, 33 Comp, 171 Yds, 1 TD, 2 INT, 46.4 QB Rating
    12/04 - 31, 58, 277, 2, 2, 52.2
    12/11 - 21, 31, 170, 1, 3, 67.9
    12/19 - 14, 29, 144, 0, 2, 34.3
    12/25 - 30, 41, 317, 0, 4, 44.3
    01/01 - 21, 27, 259, 1, 1, 76.3

    2006:
    11/27 - 22, 36, 266, 1, 3, 58.3
    12/03 - 24, 47, 214, 1, 2, 53.0
    12/10 - 22, 34, 293, 2, 0, 111.5
    12/17 - 20, 37, 174, 0, 3, 32.9
    12/21 - 26, 50, 285, 0, 2, 52.5
    12/31 - 21, 42, 285, 1, 1, 70,0

    2007:
    11/22 - 31, 41, 381, 3, 0, 128.2
    11/29 - 5, 14, 56, 0, 2, 8.9
    12/09 - 15, 23, 266, 2, 1, 115.5
    12/16 - 19, 30, 225, 2, 2, 80.6
    12/23 - 17, 32, 153, 0, 2, 40.2
    12/30 - 9, 11, 99, 2, 0, 143.8

    2008:
    11/23 - 25, 32, 224, 2, 1, 103.6
    11/30 - 23, 43, 147, 0, 1, 60.9
    12/07 - 20, 31, 137, 0, 1, 60.8
    12/14 - 17, 30, 207, 1, 2, 61.4
    12/21 - 18, 31, 187, 0, 2, 48.7
    12/28 - 20, 40, 233, 1, 3, 45.1

In the 24 games mentioned (the last 6 for each of the last 4 years), he has had 5 great games(QB rating over 100) (2 were against Detroit and one against Oakland last year).
He has had 2 Average games (Rating between 75 and 100)
He has had 17 Bad games (QB rating lower than 75).

Out of the same 24 games, he has only gone 2 games without throwing an interception, yet has gone 10 games without throwing a touchdown.

He has also thrown 21 TD's and 42 Interceptions in those last 24 games.

I have loved Favre for many years, but the facts is the facts.. he is old and cannot play a full season. He is useless at the end of the year during crunch time and in the playoffs. Has been since 2005.

What does our pass rush have to do with Favre's performance?

Do yourself a favor and look up Farve's QB rating in December over the last 5 years, compare it to the rest of those seasons.

See the decline and how terrible it's been and then ask yourself if our pass rush or play calling had anything to do with it.

I have to laugh every time I see xxedge72x make reference to the vaunted 1-2-8 defense.

Holy shit! This needs to be analyzed more closely. Thanks for this--also, tough luck this year but at least you beat Det. I was a little worried there for a moment.

And if he comes back next year he'll probably do the same thing and get another coach fired. it's going to be a shame when Mangini gets his next job and has better coordinators and he becomes a great coach. I'm sure it will be a big shock to all the Jets fans who couldn't tolerate the fact that he didn't yell at people on the sideline.

Those stats don't tell the whole story. As a outside observer it seems to me that jets fans are crazy if they want their HOF recently selected to the Probowl QB gone, trust me we have gone through that in Miami until we got Chad. Sure some of the interceptions were bad, but most were not his fault. he was playing from behind, with bad play calling, and with his WR's dropping the ball. The Dolphins had to claw that game away from Favre this Sunday. Favre is a warrior, the gunslinger, El Pistolero baby.

It was not Favre's fault entirely. Look at Schottenheimer for this. Do we forget this team is built for the run, not the pass? He tried to use Favre too much. Favre was fine we the Jets ran the ball and used favr for those 5-10 yd passes and let the receivers get the YAC. Whenever they called for a deep threat it was picked off, and i dont blame favre for that i blame the play calling. Against the fins this past sunday the Jets has 3rd and 1, 3rd and 2 a hand full of time and were throwing it. I dont get it when you have the AFC leading rusher on your team and an offensive line build for running. O-Lineman dont want to pass protect they want to beat guys up and push them around with the run. My other major issue with this team was the lack of pass rush. Its called a blitz and it seems like whenever we did it something good happened. (Ellis TD v. Bills, Pennington fumble yesterday)
