in DWare's defense, there have been an assload of posts lately about jets fans rooting for the dolphins because they dont want to see the pats get to the playoffs. fuck that. you never root for a loss. not to mention there is still a slight chance we can make the playoffs. disgusting. and there are way too many stupid "HC candidate" threads.
Nah, I think most people want to keep Chad and the Fins out of the playoffs, so a Jets loss is what they're rooting for. Just most people, realistically, don't think there's a snowball's chance in hell that the Pats or Ravens eat a loss this week. So it really doesn't matter if the Jets win or not, it's too little too late. The only purpose is to spoil Chad's Christmas.
Jets fans are notorious for overreacting when things go wrong (and right). Anyone who has been here for a few years should know that. I don't think anyone wants the Jets to lose simply for the sake of losing. The reality is, if the Jets can't make a shot at the playoffs, then pick your poison... would you rather New England or Miami went to the playoffs? Regardless of the above argument, the Jets will have a shot at the playoffs right until the end of the game... so ultimately I expect them to play like it. I'm about || this close to being through with Mangini... but I'm willing to give him this one last hurrah to have an epiphany and get the Jets playing real football. So... while most of us are freaking out and overreacting about the Jets, DWare is having a sweet old time ripping on us instead of discussing or arguing the Jets with us. Hence, troll.
So I guess you brought the drinks tonight cause that looks like a nice bottle of: Gotta love how I'm the troll for thinking this team can be something, but the people starting multiple threads about different coach options and so on are just fine. Sorry, but if the only way to not be a troll is to complain because it's the thing to do here...well then I'm a troll. Boogity boogity.
You are completely missing the point DWare. It doesn't matter whether anyone believes the Jets can magically turn their season around & do something in the playoffs if they make it. We are now relying on one of two terrible teams to win a game for us plus we need to win a game. I'm not sure which of those is more unlikely, even you have to admit the chances aren't looking very good right now.
I honestly don't think I am. And neither the Jags nor Bills are terrible...well maybe on the NFL's black/white scale they are...but I think both teams have fighting shots. Crazier shit has happened. Will I be more disappointed than anyone on this board Sunday because of my optimism? Maybe. Do I really care right now? Nah.
We beat the Titans and Patriots! On the road in back to back games!! Anyone else still have their hotel reservations in Tampa!??!
That's the thing, you don't care because, "Hey, there's always next year," which is succinctly implied in your sig. And you troll because you never specify anything. I asked you a question in the other thread and told you to ask yourself "why" 2x upon answering. You responded saying that we aren't winning right now because the middle of the field is getting lit up. When it came time to ask "why" to that part, you buried your head back in the sand.
1. Thats because there is next year. Lemme clue you into something...if we hire a new coach...guess what season he's playing for? Thats right...next year. 2. TF are you even talking about? I said I wasn't happy with Mangini cause we weren't winning. We're not winning cause we're not winning. The teams not playing well, and the coaches aren't coaching well. It's really that simple What'd you want a fuckin term paper out of it? I think the biggest problem on the team right now is that we leave the middle of the field way too open....allowing teams to sustain longer drives and create more running room...meaning that we usually start with lesser field position than we do when we're going well...meaning that the offense has more work to do...with Favre's play lately the offense can't handle that workload, and any D forced to play as much as ours has been playing is going to be exploited. Our teams biggest strength when we were going well was our ability to sustain long drives...forcing teams into shittier field position...allowing our D to be more aggressive...and of course...we scored more points on offense. Thats what complimentary football is, thats what getting all 3 phases going does, and we're not doing it. We've done it before, and we're perfectly capable of doing it again...so excuse me for not seeing a fucking fire every time we fuck up.

If we fuck up '08 we fuck up '08...can't say we didn't try...shit we'll finish the season with at least 9 wins so it's definitely for not trying. TF do you want me to do...petition the league for more games so that Mangini gets his fair shot this year? He blew it this year, but he's a fine coach who's going to improve (apparently only in my opinion though). I'm not going to hold it against him and see this shit as a fucking character/intelligence problem. 2. TF are you even talking about? I said I wasn't happy with Mangini cause we weren't winning.
