Any Jet fan who, after the debacle this season has become, thinks that the Favre for Pennington move was a good one is delusional and knows absolutely nothing about football.

Pennington won here with an inferior team. Favre was handed all the pieces for a playoff run and has stunk. If Pennington played some of the games Favre played this year, he would have been run out of town. The fact is, Pennington's arm, decision-making, and leadership are all better than Favre's this year. So deny it all you want, but the FO blew it big time and now the Jets have a team that is built to win for a few years, but we have a completely washed up old man and a bunch of young QB's who are complete unknowns. I'd rather have Pennington.

And this "Pennington couldn't win here" and "it was time for a change" stuff is the biggest bunch of crap I have ever heard.

And as for playing in bad weather, Pennington looked pretty good last week in KC on a 10 degree day with 25 mph winds. Meanwhile, Favre completely folds and throws ducks at the first sight of any precipitation or cold.

Next we'll hear about how the Jets made the right move by keeping Ellis and trading Abraham - another huge blunder. I guess the Jets didn't need 16.5 sacks from one player. Jet fans would rather have an average player without the off-the-field problems that Abraham had. Ooops about that marijuana and snow ball thing with Ellis.

Yeah we have the pieces. Those great WRs... wait. That great secondary that has dominated the league... wait. That great coaching staff.... wait.

Your the one who's delusional if you think we have this "great" team. There are a lot more weaknesses than the QB. Obviously Favre is not playing well but to blame all our problems on ONE player when we have one of the worst Pass defenses in the league and a coaching staff that has made terrible decisions on playcalling on both sides of the ball all year is insane.

But wait, the GREAT Chad with all the Pro Bowls, MVPs, Conference Titles and Super Bowls he won while he was here would have done the trick.

^^^That is why Chad got hurt so often while a Jet, he was carrying the whole team. In actuality though, it was Chad's time to move on. No hate for the man, just was his time.

The season is also not all on Favre. In the end, I hate to say this, the coaching was sub par.

Again, this thread had nothing to do with Favre. Just the point that it was time for The Jets and time for Chad Pennington himself, to move on from each other.

The truth of the matter is this. Spagnola has bigger balls than Mangini. At least he went into KC wanting to win instead of Mangini praying they would beat the Seahawks and played down to the competition.

I still want the Jets to win on Sunday, but I'm not wearing rose colored glasses either.

Rich Gannon had a weaker arm than Penny and he got to the SB. So I don't see why anyone would disagree with you.

"But a Chad hater? I plead innocent."

Which is it? Are you a Chad hater or not?

They have a hell of a lot more piece than they had last year, when Pennington and Clemens had their issues.

Gannon had a weaker arm than Chad? Not true. Gannon had an above average arm most of his career and could also scramble. The QB closest to Chad's arm who won a SB was Dilfer, of course he had one of the most dominant D's in history.

Pennington won with an inferior team? Go back and look. Those were the most stacked teams in franchise history. You forgot to mention that Abe barely played the first 2 years of that contract. Both guys are having career years 10 years into their careers, that doesn't happen often. You also forgot to mention that we got a 24 year old probowl center for Abe.

The most stacked teams in franchise history? Those teams were re-tooled THREE times. In '01(w/ Vinny) we made the playoffs w/ leftovers from previous regimes, in '02 the D was gutted and we brought in about 6 new starters, in '04 Moss became the #1 WR, McCareins was brought in, a couple of new OL, DL, LBs, Secondary. 3 playoff teams w/ 3 different teams. All had talent but none as much as this team when you factor health in.

Dilfer had a rocket arm. But he wasn't a rocket scientist.

I don't consider myself a Chad hater, but you do. What that means about you should be obvious as I, unlike you, do not intend to call other Jet fans here immature personal names and, in your case, inappropriate ones.

    That about covers it.
