Don't mistake anything I'm saying either. Please don't take this as me saying that I'm not disappointed in the season, or the game, or the staff, because I am. My point is simply this. Since teams do this all the time, the Jets did the exact same thing before we beat the Pats and Titans. But since we won those games, no one complains about it. Everything is great when we win, but like World War III around here when we lose.
"Remember Brett, just close your eyes and throw it as far down field as you can. As long as someone catches it, it's a completion. I think. Probably."
Exactly ..why prepare for a team ahead when you need to win that sunday in order to keep your control on the division.
I said the same thing at the time, Joe Klecko was on the FAN today and he said the same thing. As a defense you'd love to get your first crack at a bunch of subs in bad weather at their own 2, you may well end up with a TD there even if the O doesn't convert 4th and 1. They did get two turnovers early before Seattle got their bearings.
Take a look at the play by play and you will see how each drive in the first half they went more and more away from the run. They had a good strategy on the first drive and went away from it. Then a few drives later when they decide to go back to the run, the keep calling run until it is stopped. They stopped mixing it up. Just stupid shit. http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter/playb..._by_play&season=2008&week=REG16&override=true I really was suprised they decided to kick the FG, and Sec 225 is right, it did set the pussy tone. Just no fucking balls until it is the wrong time to show 'em. FUBAR.
I honestly think this is what Mangini did for the second Pats game. I think the game plan we used for the Rams the week before was really the NE game plan, thats why the Rams game was the first one where Keller played a big part. Seattle was weak enough for this plan to work, if Manboobs didn't puss out on so many drives.
dude this is stupid, he gave them off christmas, no way. If mangini didnt give them off christmas im sure some people would be bitching. Were talking about practice NOT A GAME we talking about...practice
I loved the way they used Richardson in short yardage on the first drive, I'd have gone to him on the 4th and 1, that's why you go get a FB of his caliber. I was wondering where that was all year, since the first New England game. You're right, as the game went on the offense evolved from that to Favre chucking it deep on 3rd and short and ultimately 4th and 2. I have no problem with taking shots down the field, but when you need 2 or 3 yards to stay on the field--or 2 yards to stay in the game--you don't throw low percentage deep passes. Maybe once, but not as many times as we were doing it. I know people hate 3-yard passes but on 4th and 2 it will at least keep posession for you.
I heard this segment too. Mangini stated it in the presser. Evan Roberts responded best to it: Now you'll have all the time in the world from January to June to spend with family. Congratulations, Mangini.
Looks like you're going to need room for another tombstone on that sig of yours, DBJ. It can say "The Brett Favre Era"
