I really don't care about the fine, but anyone that thinks a player should be suspended for throwing snow is a retard.
Ellis should be figuring out why he can't rush the passer like he once could instead of worry about throwing snowballs back at drunk fans.
Never mind the fact that he is one sack shy of Richard Seymours career high. Now if you had said since week 11 or so then maybe you'd 'make sense.
About when teams figured out our DLine was a joke, they started stacking Ellis. I sure hope our plan this offseason includes revamping the DL.
Actually the players & coaches should give up there game checks for the SF/SEA & Den games as pentance for not doing there jobs
I agree, I think the fine was justified but I don't see it as a big deal. There is a line between the players and the fans and Ellis crossed it. First it's this and then it's beer bottles. Somebody is going to lose an eye with all this horseplaying.
this didn't embarrass the organization. The marijuana bust did. He should've been fined for pot, not this. I have much more of a problem with teams letting fans get away with throwing ice and snow at players and team personnel. I was at Giants Stadium on Sunday night. The PA said a few times that fans could be thrown out or subject to arrest, but not a damn thing was done. A guy in my section was making it rain on the Panthers bench the whole game. Two fights broke out in my section because of it.
You know...You really can't trust that man too much. He's got a reputation for leaving to division rivals. Check back in two years. I couldn't stop laughing at this! It's funny...Because it's true.
I see what your problem is: Basis of Comparison. Just because you're used to ricky williams and his inability to maintain stability through legal means does not make it alright to suspend a player for their first infraction of the league substance abuse policy. It's in the rules.
What I want to know is "where was the Seahawk stadium security?". The home team is obligated to protect visiting players. Why didn't the Seahawks anticipate this and put a cover over the visiting players exit ramp ? The organization knew the stadium was covered in snow. Fans throwing snowballs at players is completely unacceptible. Those participating should have lost their season tickets and been thrown out of the stadium. I really can't fault Ellis when fans are given a free hand to throw things at players. It would make me very PO'd as it would most on this board.
Finally some emotion out of a player!!!! Rather than looking like robots that mangini has under his emotionless spell!! Huge fan of Ellis for this!
Ellis says "It was a battlefield out there" Was he talking about his retarded snowball fight? Because it didn't look like it was a battlefield during the game.
The numbers are overrated. Anyone who actuallys watches the games and not look at the stat sheets would be able to see that. No one is scared of Shawn Ellis as a pash rusher. Have you seen him blow by to sack a QB this year? I'm sure over 90% of his sacks are "coverage" sacks.
