On Sunday, John Abraham broke the single season Falcons sack record by posting number 16.5. He was a great player for us and I wish him nothing but success for the rest of his career. It's a shame so many of you bought the disgraceful spin job by the Jets PR department about his injury in the 2004 playoffs. Dan Leberfeld wrote a terrific article about that entire debacle in Jets Confidential which really put Abe in a favorable light. Oh yeah, then there was blaming him for sitting out in the 2001 playoffs... the guy was throwing up on the field, come on. He's had full seasons 3 out of the last 4. Be well, John. We could use a pass rusher like you.

Just like w/ Chad Abe is not here b/c of durability issues. I wish we still had them both.

^ Let's see how many threads you can make about Chad in one week. This should be interesting.

Yeah, I don't criticize Tannenbaum for trading him cause we got Mangold out of it, but I was one of the few on here who didn't desert him. The media really painted this guy out to be a villain, and he was anything but. I really loved his production, and hope we get a DE that could do even half of what Abe can do.

Abraham would have failed miserably here, he has been just as big an injury concern in Atlanta and I like having Mangold a lot more than Abraham right now.

Look how long we was patient with Chad... I am so glad a lot of you on here are not running this team we would be the Lions every year like they are this year.

Show me one thread I made about Chad? Chad is relevant here b/c, like Abe, he's not here b/c of durability issues. Stop worrying about me and worry about your Favre bias, go think of some mroe excuses for him.

We got an All-Pro caliber Center for him and he is a very young one at that as well. Mangold doesnt play a flashy posistion but I would rather have him then John Abraham.

If I was running this team we'd have locked up the division already, have more cap room and be fighting for at least the 2 seed. The ptoblem is when the Gm falls prey to the grumblings from fans instead of using his football knowledge to make moves. It was insane to make that Favre move when we did but those that love big names and fantasy #s loved the deal, others that know big names and fantasy #s don't mean alot thought the deal wasn't a good one.

Niiice. Abe was by far the most talented player on the Jets roster in the past 10 years, and I don't even think I'm exaggerating.

Nice to see that Abe trade worked out for everybody. I'll sit back and watch Abe's success be considered a sign of someone (probably Mangini's) incompetence.

I had given up on Chad last year and wanted to see Clemens get another shot, but I wasn't very thrilled about the Favre deal. I have never forgiven him for giving Strahan the sack record. The two of them basically stole it from Gastineau. Also, the guy was in decline for a few years before his miraculous revival last year. I was very wary of the whole thing, but didn't really criticize it to much because I thought he'd be an upgrade over Chad. The more I look at it, the more I think it's this coaching staff that sabotages our QB's. By the way, Chad hasn't been that great in Miami, but he's been efficient enough.

I haven't given up on Clemens yet, he and Chad were awful last year but no QB could succeed behind that OL. W/ the new improved team around the QB I'd like to see what KC can do.

Yeah, I think Clemens has the tools to succeed, and I'd like to see him compete with Ratliff and perhaps a Veteran QB for the starting job next year in training camp. No veteran out there who could become available is good enough to be guaranteed the starting job right away, not even Donovan McNabb.

I think Mcnabb would be guaranteed a starting job if he became available and if thye paid big bucks to Cassell he would be guaranteed the job.

You do realize that he is in the 4-3 and not the 3-4? You do realize that they tried him at the 3-4 and he was terrible in that position. It would have been another Vilma situation, I'd rather have a player that fits any system very well in a Pro Bowl level instead of a guy that would have not fit our system at all. And he is insanely streaky either he is a pass rush or he is invisible.

Yeah, McNabb would be guaranteed the job, but I don't like him very much. I'm also wary of Carson Palmer.

Actually, Abraham did an excellent job as a hybrid DE/LB in the 3-4 during his 2000 rookie season under Al Groh. Think a much better version of Bryan Thomas.

When Abe decided to sit out the Pitt playoff game I stopped caring about him so much.
