I Voted yes. In the words of the immortal Mr. Spock "The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few, or the one".
I want Mangini gone, but have no confidence Woody would get anyone better in here. He's had two chances to hire HC's since he bought the team and imo failed miserably with both chances. Why should I think he'll get it right now? Woody doesn't know SH!T about football. That being the case, I'd prefer the win.
I am in my forties and hate Miami more than the Pats as most older fans would. Yet I would rather have a Parcells team QB by Chad win the devision, than watch the Pats win the division and have to hear how they overcame all the injuries and how great Cassel is.
I am a huge Parcells fan and hate Belichick. If the Patriots win the division after losing so many key players it would only add to the legend of BB. Parcell took over the worst team in the NFL and if they are division winner it will be the first time it has happened in NFL history and the biggest win total turn around in one season too. Which would add to Parcells HOF resume. I'll go with Parcell. Also Chad would be the biggest comback player of the year not counting Collins.
Losing to the Fins is never an acceptable option. I would definitely sign twice though to beat the Fins and then have Mangini fired. I'm 48 years old and there's no guarantee I see a Jets super bowl win in my life. You young whipper snappers have the luxury of being able to root for the Jets for probably the next 50 years until they randomly win one. I don't. I want a great head coach in here, like Parcells was, to get the thing done soon.
I wrote Santa and note, and while I didn't get my wish on Xmas day...I hope to get it soon. All I asked for was for Mangina to be fired...let us hope...
Remember, in Parcells's first year he basically won 9 games with Richie K's talent. To build on the food/shopping metaphor, it was like Richie K. stocked the pantry, cooked the food, served it up to fatass Parcells and a houseful of houseguests, and then right before Richie gets to come to the table, fat Bill throws Richie K. out the back door of the house, only to return to the table and say, "Enjoy my cooking, I picked out all the ingredients!"
i dont care for mangina but i wouldnt root for us to lose in order to get rid of him "for sure" i hated herm and i never rooted for us to lose because of my hatred of him. i knew his time would come, luckily kc did me and every other jet fan a favor and gave us something when the "took him away" mangini will get his, i hope it is this year, if not with a much tougher schedule next year he will be shown as a loser who cannot lead a team. however if favre goes and we have to rely on a new qb, that could be the out for mangina next year, making it at least 3 probably 4 more years before this team can be any good again, at which point most of the current talent will be too old to be at the top of their game or retired. ugh i really hate football sometimes!
Just out of curiosity, if today's game had no PO implications, how many of you would change your vote?
