The list below contains the four best available and proven head coachs who are proven motivator and tallent spotters. Bill "The Chin" Cowher William Laird Cowher (born May 8, 1957) is a former American football coach and player. Cowher resigned after 15 seasons as the Steelers' coach on January 5, 2007, just 11 months to the day after winning 2005-06's Super Bowl XL. Note: He would make our Defense feared. Marty "Run the Ball" Schottenheimer Martin Edward Schottenheimer (born September 23, 1943 in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania) is a former American football coach. Over his career, he has served as head coach of the Cleveland Browns, Kansas City Chiefs, Washington Redskins, and San Diego Chargers. He holds the peculiar distinction of being the NFL coach with the most wins since 1966 to never coach a team in a Super Bowl (which was first held in that year). He was fired from his head coaching position with the San Diego Chargers in 2007, after leading the Chargers to a 14?2 record but a disappointing second round loss after a first round bye in the playoffs. Note: He would make teams respect the run and we would finally be able to get pickup those 3rd or 4th and one yard. Jimmy "My Hair" Johnson James William Johnson (born July 16, 1943) is a former American football coach who currently appears on Fox NFL Sunday, the Fox network's NFL pregame show. He was the first football coach whose teams won both an NCAA Division 1A National Championship and a Super Bowl. Note: He would bring back the long ball and make our boring Offense exciting. Mike "I Need Some Time Off" Holmgren Michael George Holmgren (born June 15, 1948 in San Francisco, California) is the head coach of the Seattle Seahawks of the National Football League. Prior to being named the sixth coach of the Seahawks in January, 1999, Holmgren coached football at the high school, collegiate, and professional level, most notably as head coach of the Green Bay Packers, whom he led to a championship when the Packers won Super Bowl XXXI. One of Holmgren's claims to fame is the success he has experienced molding quarterbacks such as Joe Montana, Steve Young, Brett Favre and Matt Hasselbeck during his tenures in San Francisco, Green Bay and Seattle. During that time, the Green Bay Packers were a consistent winner and Holmgren became known as one of the best coaches in the NFL. Under Holmgren's leadership and play calling, the Seahawks have become an annual playoff team and went to the franchise's first Super Bowl in 2005. The current projections have: Cowher going to Cincy or Cleveland Schott to Cleveland Holmgren to Dallas Jimmy staying with his TV gig. I say the key player in all this is the all mighty $$$. Woody can get any one of these guys if he is willing to pay enough. Throw enough money and power to any of these guys and we have a winner.
Screw that. Germ got another year with a new DC, then another year with a new OC. Sure did him a lot of good. Fire Mangini yesterday.
It looks like we will have at least a new Dc if not a OC too. So Gut the team and start new. The buck stops with the HC.
I voted the Chin , but I would not mind getting Rex Ryan or Spanuola (sp). Personally I think Mangina should have been fired Sunday night or Monday Am , Now that would have sent a message that the crap we saw on Sunday is Inexcusable and Unacceptabe.
Ahaha NICE.. Cowher is first IMO. But a guy like Jimmy Johnson, Steve Spagnola or Rob Ryan (The Ravens DC) warrants strong consideration as well.
I say stay with Mangini because I still hope we are going to the SB this year... I know it a dream but hey we can have those.......lol
