I remember him saying that the reason Cassel threw for 400+ yds was because the Patriots kill you on the blitz.
    Now IMO, That's pussy.
That's saying He has No Balls.
So, them killing us on NO Blitz is Better? What kinda Logic is that?

While I can understand it w/Brady or some vets for him to admit that is typical ball-less BS.

    So I ask this?
What's the Excuses for lack of Blitzes vs Denver,NE, SF, Buff and especially Seattle!
5 New Linemen. A nub QB.
    I mean seriously?
Just like vs buffalo we started sending people w/3 mins. left in the game! WTF is that!?

We won the Buffalo game on a Blitz.
Almost every game we won we had an agressive D.
The season was like the Arizona game.
We Blitzed, caused TO's started winning and then Shut it down.

    Why? What's the excuse?

We scored 5 Defensive TD's this Year. Most were caused under Pressure!!! WHY SHUT IT DOWN!!!!??

It's obviously us! We just fail to see the genius of it all. =\

Seriously though, the vanilla D really pisses me off, but I can understand why Mangini would be hesitant to blitz. I think he must be running out of schemes or something, because whenever he dials one up, it seems to get picked up more often than not these days. My guess is that opposing offenses are just wising up. If Mangini's not gone by next season, I really do hope he's at least got a new DC by his side that's actually competent enough to hold the job.

It seems like every time the Jets play in bad weather -offense and defense- the other team seems to able to play better than us.

By time and time again, you mean the 2 times we tried it right? That's kind of the point. They're all so obvious too, we don't do it enough and we don't mix it up at all either. Plus all our blitzes are slow for some reason. Our players, just like our coach, are pussies and are afraid to get leveled by a block, so they kinda just stutter up there.

If you watch the Steelers blitz, they switch it up and you have no idea where they're coming from, but they come a lot. They also run full throttle each time on the blitz. If you block them, you can really level them, but if you miss they will blow by you and get to the QB.

That Revis one really sucked. I got all excited like it was Buffalo (Week 5) all over again, but no he got picked up AND the Seahawks got the first down.

the overall defense just lacks speed, even when they do blitz the guys look like they are stuck in mud.

I have supported Mangini from the get go. I have prasied him for making hard decisions such as releasing vilma and Drob. I have given him the benefit of the doubt in regards to the apparent lack of in game adjustments especially on d. I have also watched as this team which has played many teams who were at a disadvantage due to injury at the time we played them, failed to take advantage of said fact. I have watched this mans post game press conferences routinely state the teams execution as the primary reason for failure. His ego obviously doesnt allow himself to take a look in the mirror. Im tired of him and I want him gone. His emotionless approach has obviously sucked the heart out of this team which plays with no passion whats so ever imo. I see zero intensity and have witnessed the worst deterioration of a quality team in the throws of a stretch run ever. He is a sickening disappointment and he needs to be gone.

What's sad is that the Mangini-Sutton defense makes Herm-Cotrell look like the salad days. Hell for all the problems I had with Herm, his teams didn't fold (well they sorta did in '04 but still made the playoffs).

As incompetent as Herm was with coaching, at least he could get the team fired up. I guess at least just going out there and hitting somebody is better than nothing.

Mangini says at every press conference that they stress approaching each game the same way week to week.

GUESS WHAT ERIC!? TIME TO ADJUST THE PREPARATION ASSHOLE!

I'm still stunned by the magnitude of this failure. It is up there with the worst Jet collapses of all time. We probably are not making the playoffs. At least we made the playoffs in 86 even though we lost 5 straight and that year injuries were a huge factor.

    What's the excuse this year?

The team needs more time to gell.

Yep, but we even lost the practice.

Everything on the Seahawks side was a backup even the guy who holds the footballs.

Mangini refuses to change. The whole "Genius" shit went to his head and he refuses to change.
IRONICALLY, Beliclit is the master of changing on the fly and adapting but I guess Mangini left before he got that lesson...

Because they had 5 cart-pushers playing on their O-line? That would probably be a valid excuse in Bizarro-land.
