http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=3777889 Quarterback Tim Tebow, who's already won a Heisman Trophy and a national championship during his career at Florida, will request a projection from the NFL advisory committee on where he could expect to be selected in April's draft. Tebow, who hopes to win a second national title with the Gators when they take on Oklahoma on Jan. 8 in the FedEx BCS National Championship Game, told reporters Wednesday he's not leaning one way or the other. "I have no clue. I haven't been thinking about it so far," said Tebow, who won the 2007 Heisman Trophy as a sophomore and finished third in the voting this year. Tebow said he won't sit down and make a decision until after the national title game. He plans to submit his paperwork before Christmas. (snip) Tebow passed for 2,515 yards and 28 touchdowns and threw only two interceptions this season. He also rushed for 564 yards and 12 touchdowns.
It makes me laugh that he's thinking about going early after listening to so many people say he was different because he was home schooled by Protestant missionaries. Not so different after all, huh? As to his future in the NFL, 28 TDs vs 2 INTs in the SEC means you deserve a shot.
He would be able to help a lot more underprivileged kids with more money and a bigger platform. Knowing Tebow, I'm sure he's thinking about it like that and not the way you're assuming.
I'm not a fan, but if someone can mine his talent and teach him how to throw a football like an NFL QB then he could be great. As of right now, I'm not a major fan of him and his future as an NFL QB. I hate his release, I hate his footwork, and that running style of his won't translate. BUT, he's not an idiot so...I'll wait for it to play out.
Yeah, I see him as a hard-nosed, great COLLEGE player who's game looks like it won't translate to the NFL.
