I figure its going to take a switch to a coach BF likes to keep him, but I'm not sure if keeping him would help. He's having age related problems this year, next years isn't going to be better.
The ideal situation would be to convince him to come back at a reasonable price as a backup to Clemens.
Favre would never return to play another year for Mangini. That said, Mangini may not be here so who knows what he would do then. One thing for sure is that Clemens won't be the starter next year if he doesn't come back.
I wouldn't be surprised at all if he comes back for one more year if we don't win it all this year. One more chance to finish a champion, I have felt since he was brought in that it was going to be a 2 year run for glory and I don't have any reason to think otherwise at this point.
Yep. I'd like to see what Brett can do with this team after being there a full year. He joined a month before the season started and the Jets aren't a West Coast offense, so it has taken some getting used to. He's had some great games against playoff contenders like the Titans, Patriots, Dolphins, and Cardinals. I'd like him back one more season. It will give Ratliff and some other QBs another year of seasoning behind a great veteran.
I'm a clean liver these days work out 6 days a week and no booze or drugs and haven't since the early 80's. I encourage youth to experiment, but I enjoy being healthy and mobile and want to be for a long time. I like some of the things Clemens does and Favre looks a little washed out to me and at 39 the cold weather takes the starch out of you after a short time. I hope Favre has enough left but I have my doubts.
My ideal world included somehow being able to draft Joe Flacco... ... but alas.... As Simon and Garfunkel once sang... "Where did you go, Joe D'Flaccio, our team will be as lonely as can be... he-he-he!"
I was a strong advocate of going after Cutler and I think Cakes and I were roundly critized for wanting to trade up for Ryan. After passing on all that talent, you have to believe that they have a lot of faith in Clemens. I like a lot of his mechanics and toughness. I haven't given up on him just because of his footwork and decision making in limited opportunities with an awful line.
The fuckin reporter asked him if he will approach these next few games any differently knowing they could be his last. How do you want him to answer a question like that?
