Not as many picks as we thought

As of today ( in playoffs), Jets' will have..............


Rd 1
Rd 3 (from New Orleans)
Rd 3
Rd 4 (From Skins Pete K trade)
Rd 5
Rd 6
Rd 7

Not too bad! Remember, the Jets will have a Rd 2 pick if we don't make the playoffs and lose a Rd 3 in the Favre deal. I don't see any compensation for D-Rob or comp picks.

 

Probably because they want to keep their 2nd round pick.

 

Shockey trade.......the Saints are giving the Giants their 2nd rd pick.

It's because the Saints want to keep their 1st rd pick. If the Saints signed Vilma, the Jet's would get their 2nd rd pick and the Giants would get the Saints 1st rd pick.

 

THe G men get the saints first rounder next year from what I had read, not for the upcomming draft. That would seem to hold to the thought that a pick a year later in a trade is worth an extra round on the points scale.

 

Incorrect!! As I stated in the my previous post, the only way the Giants get the Saints #1 pick, is if the Saints sign Vilma and then the Jets' get the 2nd rd pick, which vaults the Giants to rd 1. As it stands now, they won't sign Vilma....Jets get the 3rd round and Giants the orginally 2nd rd pick traded for Shockey. The year 2010 is not in play!!

 

yeah the saints are willing to part with Vilma because they do not believe that both he and Shockey is in essence worth a 2010 #1, a 2009 2, 5 and a 2008 #4.

 

The trade they made for Shockey was BRUTAL.

What a stupid trade, they've backed themselves into a corner.

 

I think we get a 4th rounder back if from the Packers if Favre doesnt come back

 

So if Favre doesnt play in the 2009 season, we get a 4th round draft pick back?
What draft year is that 4th round pick?

 

I agree about the resigning part, but what I was saying is the first rounder comes next draft, not this one. Its not an upgrade of a pick because its a year later. Its not an upgrade for this year's draft if resigned.

 

No matter what happens here, playoffs or not, we lose a 2nd rounder for Farve, right?How many worst case scenarios can hit us this year? Drob =nothing Favre=2nd rounder and no playoffs and Vilma= 5th rounder(which is a third rounder minus a fourth).
