One of the leads on Sportscenter. None of us really care. Funny.

Not just that, but no one has this quote on any Jets site, yet it was on at the beginning of Sportscenter. They love Favre. I don't care about next year right now, but I know it's going to be a drama.

I already expect him to retire this year, Super Bowl or no Super Bowl.

Any game could be anyone's last. Only the old guys realize that.

This was pretty much expected. The way Favre works, he could say right now that he is definitely coming back next year or going to retire and it wouldn't mean anything.

I get the feeling Favre is done too. He realizes, it sucks being a Jet.

You would think by now that Favre would learn to keep his mouth shut on this. I mean, he's being honest & all, but .... commenting on it never ends well.

Then again, if he hadn't learned after 17 years, he's probably not going to suddenly figure it out in the 18th! :drunk:

... OK, I guess he does realize it, but just doesn't give a godamn what anyone will say :)

actually if he leaves next year it would work out well for us.first off we fee uo 12 mil. in cap space.
2.k.c. or ratliff would win the job in t.c. if either one of is any good than no worries we have a qb
3.if they don't work out with next years schedule we;ll have a good draft pick to get a guy like colt mcoy to be the man

We've needed a new QB Era for a long time now. Getting rid of Pennington and using Favre as a stop-gap measure has proven successful so far.

Let's proceed to the next step: the acquisition of a new, young, "Franchise QB."

I can't wait until somebody asks him about Mangini and Schotty after he retires. Haha the man is going to absolutely unload on them!

I suspect Favre will be on TV in some capacity sooner rather than later. Probably as a commentator in the GB area.

I'd be willing to bet any amount of money against that.

He must have watched the tape of him running that naked bootleg last game..

It would have been a close race between him and namath.

Hilarious! I have thought about that a few times. Also, him saying how Jets fans suck and New York sucks. Its been hell being a Jet, etc. Schotty sucks, Mangini sucks. Should be funny/depressing to see.

Wow. This is a CLASSIC example of the media taking someone's quotes out of context, and in doing so, at least partially changing the meaning of what the person was saying just to make a story out of it. I saw the press conference in which he uttered those words. (I watch ALL of the press conferences that both he and Mangini do - I've watched every Mangini Press conference since he became the coach of the Jets and the media constantly does this with things he says, as well) If you listen to that statement WITHIN THE CONTEXT OF THE REST OF HIS STATEMENTS AS A WHOLE, you realize that all he was saying was that ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE. His basic message was that you never know one way or another what's going to happen and that you just have to take things as they come and no one can predict the future. He used a lot of cliches and said a whole lot of nothing. Sportscenter is downright disgraceful sometimes.

Maybe I'm bein Naive but I've gotten every indication from watching his press conferences and interviews that he has thoroughly enjoyed being a Jet and has a very good relationship with both Mangini and schotty.
