Wow 7 made it plus 5 alternates. A total of 12 players! That's more than half of a starting roster (offense and defense). And that list doesn't even include Coles, Cotchery, Wallace Wright, or Dustin Keller We have some talent on this roster. This would be a great time for everything to come together for this team
We covered in this thread that the Jets have the most players being sent to the Pro Bowl right?? MIN and the Giants come in 2nd with 6.
You're right, and if the Pro Bowl really mattered, he wouldn't have. Just like John Lynch last season. But the Pro Bowl doesn't matter.
Who cares That's right. 2 things I don't give a shit about, all stars and hall of fame. We have a big game on Sunday
Should be: Favre - Backup or NOT Selected (But there really isn't anyone else) Jones - Starter Faneca - Backup (by default) Mangold - Backup Revis - STARTER Jenkins - starter Washington - starting T. Rich - STARTER or Backup and while I have been uber critical of D'Brick, he may have earned a backup spot here but the Tenn. O-line has been dominant also. But close enough to agree with the voting.
I think the AFC is pretty thin at QB right now. With Brady hurt you still have Manning as a quality Qb, with Cutler apparently up and coming. After that it's a pretty muddled field. On paper Rivers is quality, but with the skill players he has around him, I would have expected more from his team.
Favre definately does not deserve the spot. It has to be Phillip Rivers. Tony Richardson?? Have you seen Le'Ron McClain play this season? There is no room at all for Richardson as a starter. Other than that it looks good. D'Brick definately has a solid case made for him. But looking at the numbers, Jason Peters definately doesn't deserve a spot.
Every one forgets Ben Rothlisberger who has outright carried his team and has been the best QB in the AFC this year. Stats lie big time the guy has been an outright play making warrior. He and Payton Manning are the guys this year.
Well, Ben's team is getting it done, which is an important measure, but those stats are a problem, even if stats can lie. He's pretty average in completion percentage, total yardage, ypa, qb rating. I know as well as you that stats can be taken out of context, but ALL the key stats for him are pretty average. And it's not like he's somehow still producing at the team stats level, either. Pitt is 17th in the league in passing offense and 21st in points. He's a good Qb, but in the muddle of AFC also rans after Manning and Cutler (with Cutler still being an up and comer whose team is inconsistent).
What a bunch of babies complaining Favre should not be there. Jets fans are the worst fans in the world. Literally.
How can I forget about Rivers. He basically carried my FF team to the playoffs....Definitely Rivers. I have only seen McClain twice this year or actually 3 times cause I saw Die Hard again. So I guess I 'll take your word for that since you've seen him more than I have..
Brett Favre has no business being on that list... other than that I don't have much issue with the list.
Hey, fair is fair... there have been plenty of times we have had deserving players get snubbed because this thing is partly (largely?) a popularity contest.
Why Favre deserves it: -21 Touchdowns -over 3,000 passing yards -Guiding his team to key wins in New England and Tennessee -Being part of the reason why Thomas Jones has 15 Touchdowns -Being part of the reason why his team is 9-5 and in first place in the AFC East. (4-12 last year) -Rivers' team is 6-8. If you want to take anyone out for Rivers, should be Cutler. -Had less than a month to learn a completely new system than the one he used for 17 years. -No one else really deserved it. 1. Manning and then Favre,Cutler and Rivers. Roethlisberger? Give me a break. Leftwich looked better than him when he played for him vs. Washington.
I'd pick Pennington over Favre for Pro Bowl at this point, but there are others that are more deserving than either.
The Steelers have played the toughest schedule in football with a banged up OL and running attack. Hines Ward and Rothelisberger have been incredible in making big time plays to keep them in games and pull out games against the best competition in the league week in and week out. He is not a stat guy he is a playmaker. He may be the toughest and best playmaker at QB in the NFL and the fact that his team is beating the best every week says a lot more than the stats.
