I think the Jets are a good team and at the moment they have lost some focus and at the same time if one thing does get fixed on offense, the defense will break down. If the defense gets fixed then something on offense will break down. This started to happen after the Titans game. I felt the Trap game against Denver, but I was very angry about the game in SF where they should've taken them out. This game against the Bills was a character game and it came up big at the end. I feel sometimes that whatever is working for the Jets, either Mangini or Sutton tries to tinker with it and adding a wrinkle goes very wrong. Sometimes Schottenheimer has to tell Brett to take the ball himself and get that first down or Touchdown. I understand he doesn't want to get hit, but for god sakes, take one for the team and get into the end zone or take it yourself for the first down. I agree that Thomas Jones was a monster on the field running the ball, but it doesn't hurt to have a two headed monster like Leon & Thomas. One touch to run for that 47yd Touchdown was genious, but we have a loaded weapon in Leon Washington both in the special teams department and on offense. You need to show it consistantly on both sides of the attacking runs of regular offense and special teams offense. Besides the bad tackling in the game by our defense, I wish they would stop telling Calvin Pace to drop back into coverage and let him blitz more. He is a monster that needs to be let loose and destroy the QB and or take out that offensive line and rattle them enough to get to that QB. The potential for the Jets to get two more wins and clinch the East Division as well as being a monster in the playoffs is possible. They just have to stop killing off their own confidence. :jets:
Where did I say it was all his fault? There are so many posters here that need alot of help w/ reading comprehension.
Here is your quote: This trail of arguments that have been in reference to Favre not leading the O to meaningful drives when needed. Now while you technically said the "O failed" you are clearly taking a shot at Favre for failing to turn the Revis INT into points. I know, you didn't say "Favre couldn't do that either", but go ahead and try and defend that you weren't infering it. I am very capable of both reading comprehension and determining then "intent" of someones statement.
You are playing games. winstonbiggs, myself, and many others can see it. You told us that Coles had some problems last year and it affected Pennington. Now, this year, Coles is good and Favre is messing it up. You did not write it exactly in those words, but, essentially, yeah- you wrote it. I don't want to really go further with you on this because I am not a Pennington hater or a Favre fondler.
While Favre hasn't turned the offence into an unstoppable force, the bottom line is they are battling for a playoff spot this year and they were far from it without him. Chad is doing well, but Chad also has been coddled playing in warm weather all year, and because of the idiots in the Bills head office, what should have been his first game in the cold was inside a dome in Toronto. And while Favre's certainly been burned a few times, his wideouts have dropped quite a few on him as well. With him we're controlling our own destiny for the final two weeks of the season, and I'll take that over 4-12
K0kes sums it up best in his reply to you junc. You constantly say people have reading comprehension problems when we're simply able to understand what you're really implying. Favre has not been playing well at all, but it's clear you have it out for him and constantly blame him for anything you can. No matter how much u deny it every sees it with the exceptions of ouchy and possibly jets n boys. Interesting
That was about the drive when we were down 3 at midfield not the drive where we handed off 3 straight times. Favre HAS TO get us at least in FG range there and he failed and if you talked to him I'm sure he would admit that. I did write "O". The QB is leader and gets most of the credit/blame but nowhere have I ever said it's all on Brett BUT we got rid of a good QB to get him so expectations are pretty high and he's been here long enough now. There wasn't any excuse not to at least get a 1st down there when we got the ball at midfield down 3. Go back, read the quotes and the discussions they were a part of. I NEVER said Coles was done, I simply said it may be time to explore getting rid of him b/c he is getting older and his concussions might end his career soon. How this plays into this year where he has been healtyhy and played well most of the year I don't know? it's another example of you guys desperately trying to prove me wrong but failing yet again. Now the warm weather is the excuse? How warm was in '02 when Chad badly outplayd Favre in week 17? How warm was it in '06 when Chad badly outplayed Favre in Lambeau? You can't really compare 4-12 to this year b/c we made so many moves before we got Favre. We won 10 just 2 years ago and have been an every other year team since 2002. This team would definitely be as good, if not better, if we hadn't made that move. Favre still has chances to bury that argument by playing well these last 2 reg season weeks and in the playoffs. We'll see. Oooohhhhh so instead of reading what I type you can imply what I mean. That makes it better then, I apologize:rofl:
Obi-junc Kenobi: These are not the arguments you are looking for. Your Jedi mind tricks don't work on everyone son. What I will say is that you should go into politics because you've mastered the art of "Spin" You should change your name since it's the new thing....How about Chad Herman? Edward Pennington? Geroge W. Bush?
It's called having a sense of humor. Something (amongst others)you know absolutely NOTHING about.
I was unsure about it when it happened, but now I hate it. My avatar is starting to feel like a chicken suit.
