Yah I watch as many as I can in NE, and I don't do the FFB thing so, I'm going purely on what I see from game-time, DVR and stats. All I'm saying is Favre has more TDs. You can't take away TDs no matter when he got them, otherwise you have to take them away from everyone else. It's not even a football fact, it's just plain logic. You want any player on your O to score as many points as possible, and yes I'm just using the O in this statement..I know you want everyone on every unit to score whenever possible... What is the point of comparing key stats, and leaving out key stats? None. Well Chad moves the team to get into position for rushing TDs. Uhhh...so does Brett. Brett throws more INTS than Chad....ok but he's more of a QB than a game manager, such as Chad is. Niether QB has really lit up the skies lately with long ball, but the fact that we have more offensive TDs from the QB position, tells me that we are better off with Favre. Our D (largely the pass D) gives up a large amount of yards and points. If we don't have more passing TDs, who is to say we have a 9-5 record? We wouldn't. Anyone who has watched the games knows we wouldn't. Now how does the argument from certain people go that Chad doesn't makemistakes because he plays the short pass game, and that's why his team is winning, but our short game is failing because teams are playing closer to the LOS, and that's Favre's fault? It's contradiction no matter how you look at it. So I'm just trying to see the logic here, and it's escaping me and my limited football comprehension capacity.
I see what you're saying, but I think people tend to overrate TD passes, along with all stats. Example, the other day Cotchery catches a short pass and leans his way in for a TD. If he falls out of bounds and Thomas Jones punches it in on the next play, does that make Favre any better or worse of a QB? No. It's not like baseball where if you hit 50 home runs it's because you hit them. In football everything you do as an individual depends on 10 other guys all doing their jobs correctly at the same time.
I would take 9-5. Dissapointing thing is potentially this team could be 12-2. (Raiders,Broncos,49er's) Seattle's game needs to be a STATEMENT game, much like the Thursday night win against the Pats. 0-3 on the West, Poor play against poor opponents...poor play down the stretch. The Jets need to win and win big. And I think they will.
All I know is our season was basically on the line last sunday, and in crunch time when we needed a go ahead score favre and the offense laid eggs. We were one amazing play away from being eliminated from the playoffs. With our season on the line favre looked shit and I have lost confidnece in him.
and you wonder why I always tell you to pay attention and learn something. he led our O to 7 pts through 3 qtrs(on a 4 yd TD drive) and we trailed 38-14 entering the 4th. he then led us to 15 4th qtr pts w/ 2 pass TDs. That's stat padding, the game was over.
To be fair the O only got the ball at midfield, they had to go a whole 20-30 yds to get in FG range, that's a difficult spot for such a legandary player:grin: At least the O ran out the clock after the Revis INT...Oh wait they couldn't do that either.
Absolutely. That's why the argument that "chad gets them into position to score, unlike favre" is ridiculous. That's why claiming "Favre has led to more points for the opposite team" is ridiculous when assessing his performance. What I'm really getting at is, we all know Favre will throw some INTS, but since he gets you into the the same position to score at the same rate(and more than likely even more often) AND has 25% - 30% more TDs than Chad, perhaps he's not such a liability. We KNOW the D has given up a lot of points this year. So why would you focus on Favre being the problem and Chad being the solution, when he's obviously giving you better returns than Chad? If they didn't give up so many points he wouldn't be relied upon to "save the day" It's just a ridiculous argument.
That's semantics (as was claimed by seafood guy). 2 TD passes in the final quarter, of a game you're behind in is called trying to comeback and win. 2 TD passes .....what's the difference? 7 so 5 without those 2 precious ones that you claim are "padding" Even with the 5 it's still 30 more points than Pennington. And you wonder why I keep calling you names.
Right, because we've never seen the 8-9 year younger "genius QB" go 3 and out when we needed him. Again, another dumb thing to say.
This Just In: Pennington's touchdown drives from the first time the Jets played Miami this year will be voided and taken off of his stats because he was merely padding his numbers. Foolishness.
We were down 38-14, he led out O to 7 points(on a 4 yd "drive) in 3 qtrs. SD went into a soft prevetn zone and he started putting up #s. he was awful in that game but people who don't understand the game like you think he performed well. That guy isn't supposed to be one of the greatest QBs of all time, Favre is. He led us to zero 1st downs int he 4th qtr, he got the ball at midfield down 3 and couldn't even get a 1st down. The D scored then picked off Buff and he couldn't lead us to a 1st down so the D had to save him AGAIN. of course b/c being down 38-14 in the 4th is EXACTLY like being down 20-14. Why do I reply to this nonsense?
Where did you see me say "he performed well"? NOt only did I not say that, it had nothing to do with his performance. I'm saying it's not padding when he's trying to comeback. Maybe you need to go back to Ellis Island and have your migration revoked. Again, the guy that you claim is a genius and is almost a decade younger had the same problems on many occasions....did he not? You're right he should have just taken his helmet off and called it a day. Why do you reply? Apology accepted.
"To be fair", play calling after the INT: 1st and 10 at BUF 33 (1:37) T.Jones left guard to BUF 31 for 2 yards (K.Ellison). Timeout #1 by BUF at 01:32. 2nd and 8 at BUF 31 (1:32) T.Richardson up the middle to BUF 30 for 1 yard (B.Scott). Timeout #2 by BUF at 01:28. 3rd and 7 at BUF 30 (1:28) T.Jones right end to BUF 25 for 5 yards (K.Ellison, B.Scott). Timeout #3 by BUF at 01:21. 4th and 2 at BUF 25 (1:21) T.Jones right guard to BUF 25 for no gain (K.Williams, B.Scott). Not a lot of opportunity for Favre to do much. Guess he should have audibled out of Schotty's calls, but thats about it.
The Jets have a full TD more a game and 100 points more than Miami and actually Ronnie Brown has 1 of those passing TDs while Brett has all of the Jets passing TDs. Sorry kids, I don't see it.
The Offense has also allowed 35 points while the D/STs have scored 42- that is a 77 point swing against our O. When you factor in everything the production of Miami's O and our O is very similar except Chad is doing it w/ alot less talent around him.
I dunno, me thinks it's D and coaching issues. How else can you explain equal productivity when throwing talent as a criteria into the mix?
He had all 2nd half to do things. he got the ball on the Buf 20 and could only put up 3, he got the ball at midfield after Buf took the 3 pt lead and he couldn't even lead us to a 1st down. he didn't lead us to a 1st down in the 4th qtr when we desperately needed points. He had many opportunties and failed to deliver and on top of it turned the ball over twice.
Yes but u just throw bs out there u specificaly said it was his fault we didn't run out the clock after the int, then u get proved wrong and just say more bs. You have an agenda.
