There's something about Seattle that we always beat them. It's just like GB, Minnesota and TB. For some reason no matter how good or bad we are we have success against them just like no matter how good or bad we are we can't beat Washington or Philly.

We've never beaten Philly and the only win we have against the Redskins is the thrilling 3-0 win in 1993...Amazing

Yes, thats it. Favre came here to "pad his stats". It sure is obvious from watching that he doesn't care at all about winning. I could just see him sulking this last week when we pulled out a miraculous win that he had nothing to do with it. He was just sitting there sulking that he didn't get to be the hero. Oh wait no, he was jumping around with his hands in the air excited that his team found a way to win the game. Statements like these sir are why some people feel you can be a complete asshat. Favre may not be playing well, but the fact that you feel he plays to "try and pad his stats" just shows how little of his career you've actually watched.

You get so defensive. I didn't say Favre came back to pad his stats but he did pad his stats in those games in garbage time.

not really. arizona was scoring non-stop on us in the 2nd half so we had to keep scoring to keep our lead going. maybe by his last TD you could argue it was "padding" but the game wasn't over by then and arizona still had a chance to win... so why not score

Fair point? It's more like the reality of what happened. Good to see you were using carpet bombing statements again to try and prove a false point.

Why do you need to get involved? This was a discussion btw rational adults, you don't belong in that gorup. Go hang out int he school yard and call people names, that's all you are good for.

Is that the long way of saying "I'm sorry"?

It's my way of telling you to stay away b/c you bring nothing to a discussion. He made a good point, the final TD was a tack on but outside of that he didn't pad on in the Ari game but he did in the SD game in the 4th as that game was over long before he started leading us to TDs.

Apology accepted. The point was good, I agree. And it's true. The SD game?

Wow that was some padding. I'd like to know how you pad numbers in a game when you're behind. This is what I mean by your distorted view of reality. The fact that you think I bring nothing to the discussion is null and void at this point, because you are incapable grasping reality.

    Apology accepted.

That's when passing numbers can become really inflated, because the other team drops back, lets you run time and complete passes, often leading to TDs that don't affect the outcome of the game. A lot of Jet passing records were set in lopsided losses, Richard Todd vs San Francisco in 1980 comes to mind--look that one up. He set a ton of team records that day but we were out of the game by halftime. Some of them might have been broken by now, I'm not sure.

Yah I totally get it but it's not really "padding" or "inflating" if you're trying to comeback from behind, which any competitor is doing when they are behind.

Besides, what do we rank in scoring? That doesn't exactly jive with that argument. The Jets just score points, it's that simple. Favre has more TDs than Pennington. Does Pennington get the standard junc inflationary clause?

It's just absurd no matter how you look at it.

That's just a matter of semantics. Point being, a QB can be looked at as having a great game when in reality the game was non competitive and his team got its ass kicked. Statistics can often lie in football.

Agreed. But how does that change the fact that he has 21 TDs? Pennington has 14(I think) so did Chad get any garbage time TDs? Is this a moving scale that we can adjust league wide? Or does it just apply to Favre when being compared to Penny?

This is why people shouldn't weigh too much in on stats, unless they are prepared to look at all of the stats, not just ones that bolster their argument.

Again, isolating and twisting stats tells you nothing in the end. We have a defense that has put up a lot of points, Leon Washington who can score from anywhere on the field, so team points doesn't always paint a clear picture of your QB either. I think both QBs have played well this year, they have different tools to work with and every game is its own circumstance. If you're losing 48-29 you may score more points than if you're winning 16-6 by design. If you're ahead you don't always need to score. This is why people need to watch the games and ignore fantasy stats.
