the vast majority of football fans really don't understand the sport most of the time... hell, even i've been wrong or out of line in my thinking once in a while. The idea is for delusion to never take hold of your brain... that or a downtrodden, woe is me mentality.
But they are right.. if you take away our 9 wins we would be 0-14. Could you imagine that? We are that close to being 0-14, just take away all our wins and we are winless. This franchise is pathetic.

I now admit that it was very foolish of me to watch the Jets beat a team that had scored a total of 6 points that last 2 games and were starting their back up qb and had a chance to run the clock out and beat us...in our building. I was "ignorant" while watching us take a 14-3 lead..turning to my 10 year old son and saying "phew...well at least this game will not tear our hearts out". Thats part of being in the program...sportingly child abuse. I should have "stfu". If my son was old enough..he would have said "dad..these are the Jets....stfu". If he did...I wouldnt have even grounded him. I even had a, as you most wonderfully pointed out, "retarded" moment...when I thought to myself..."2 timeouts to go...and the two minute warning...they run a play here...we can get the ball back with about a minute thirty"..not realizing it was second and five...and their running back was averaging 6.0 yards a carry...so it really needed to be 2nd and..hmmmm....6 times 2 more plays is ummm..it needed to be second and 13. Thank God there are two things even more "retarded" as you put it..then Jet fans. One..is the coach of the Bills..that didnt bother to do the math I easily? figured out above. Two..Jet fans that can look at that game..and the previous two games..and be content with the direction this team is going in.

Yes...but you make it sound like "lets throw everything away and just look at the record" If I am misinterpreting that....tell me. Just as a long time Jet fan...we have been down this road before...flawed records that lead to either missing the playoffs..or early rejections. Not trying to sound negative...but there are major COACHING problems going on with this team right now. How you can go from one of the best run stopping d's to one that is getting chewed up right now...without missing a player..is beyond comprehension.

Trust me I know the team is not playing well but that was not the point in me making this thread. It was to ask the people taking away certain things to try and make their argument valid to stop, it's stupid. Most people who have a small amount of intelligence or some football knowledge would agree. The Jets do not look like a very good football team right now, but, that was not the purpose of the thread. Ok...so perhaps I misunderstood...but while you are sick of people taking swipes at a 9-5 team..there are many posters...all pretty dead on..that would say its pretty lame when posters say "just be happy!!" no matter what we are actually seeing take place on the field. By your post...you agree with that also. If I took it out of context..not my style or intention.
I like this game. Would you rather have a Jets team that beat the Raiders and Niners but lost to the Titans and Pats? We'd still be 9-5, but we'd be exactly who we thought we wre!
If you take away this and take away that... blah, blah, whiney, blah... Every winning team pulls a few games our of their arse that they "shouldn't have won" and every team loses game they "shouldn't have lost". Eventually, it all evens out. Case and point, we should have won the Oakland game. Jackoffkowski hit a 256 yard field goal in OT. Yeah we got a little lucky against the Bills... So What? it makes up for the umpteen Bills fumbles that bounced their way throughout the game and clearly could have given us the edge. The Broncos shouldn't have beaten San Diego in week two. The Patriots should have lost to the Seahawks (they played like shit until the 4 minutes were left). The Steelers barely beat Baltimore on a questionable call. blah, blah, blah, blah, blah... If I had more time I could probably include about ten other close games. If you take away every game that a team should have lost, then here's what the playoffs would look like: 1st seed with a record = 9-7 2nd seed with a record = 8-8 3rd seed with a record of 8-8 4th seed with a record of 8-8 wildcard1 with a record of 8-8 wildcard2 with a record of 7-9
If you take away Mangini, we rush more than 3 on passing downs and Leon gets more than 1 carry a game.
