It's because pharmaceutical companies donate big bucks to the people who make the laws in this country. Weed grows out of the ground, donates nothing.
Oxycontin as well as many more prescription drugs are way more of an addicting drug than marijuana. It's ironic that the brain child of The War on Drugs are small government conservatives. If you want to smoke herb that's your prerogative. It's sickening to see the big federal government supersede states rights to a point where state rights are non-existent. It's sick that people aren't getting there medicine. LEGALIZE IT...I believe medicinal marijuana is up for vote in Jersey.
