The Jets were lucky to get an upgrade after Chad went gone.

They started TC with Ratty and clemens, and based on early returns, the season would have been a disaster if they dont pick up favre.

    Hello bro.

TJ just beat curtis's single season TD record with two games remaining. Oh and we got a guy named Leon who likes to run for 60 yard TDs a lot.

And we were ranked third in the league in rushing that year and were ranked 9th this year before this game. We had the 7th ranked D in the league and we were ranked 19th this year before this game. And we had Jerald Sowell who cought 45 balls out of the backfield that year along with an outright game breaker at WR in Moss and a healthy Chrebet.

No offense but TJ ain't in Martin's league and I'm not one who thinks Martin is one of the great all time backs.

Ok, the running game is great. Now if only we had the defense that Miami does. I believe that with that kind of a defense, our offense would be even better. We're still playing scared on offense, because we know the defense is very suspect. If we knew the defense would be able to make big stops and give up under 15 points per game. You would see an offense much like Green Bay's of last year. 4000 yards last year from a suppossed washed up quarterback. I thought he made some great throws today. A few that quite frankly should have been caught.
Coles had one up high he should have made, the slant he didn't catch that turned into a interception was on a drive that could have made it 21 or 17 to 3. Game could have changed a lot from there, you don't know.
He made a smart low throw to Baker that wasn't caught. He made a decent throw to Keller in the endzone that could have been made. Perhaps a little more air, but not terrible throws. The defense came up big today when we needed it the most. A great team win. Don't know how a "fan" could be upset with this season.

We got rid of Chad because we picked up Favre.. so it wasn't luck, it was cause and effect. Preseason doesn't mean a whole lot, but 'based on early returns' I think we would be just fine with Ratty or Clemens. One of them might very well be our next franchise QB and we should have given them the opportunity to start this season.

Again with the excuse that coles didn' catch the slant pass. Never mind a 7 yard pass was thrown with the volocity to launch a rocket into space. If you are going to throw that hard it better be a perfect pass. PERIOD end of story! Let that play go. The rest is just excuses for below average QB play.

Agree with the first, disagree with the second. TJ ain't no Martin, but Martin is without a doubt one of the great all time backs. No other running back in history has done anything comparable with as little athletic ability as Martin. Martin couldn't do anything GREAT aside from reading blocks but he did everything else pretty damned well. No holes in his game unless you count lack of breakaway speed (yes, I'm contradicting myself. Wanna fight about it?). What do you expect, Barry Sanders? Best cutback runner of all time (he didn't stop on a dime, he stopped before the dime and had time to laugh at it before running the other way), had the power to break through members of the secondary and weak tackles, the moves to dodge the larger players and a second gear that allowed him to outrun anyone. If Barry Sanders got stuck in Curtis Martin's body (or simply had the same athletic ability), he wouldn't have been as good as Curtis Martin. Don't get me wrong, he wouldn't have been bad in any way but he wouldn't have been in the same category as either of the two.

Yes, I'm a Curtis Martin homer, but I substantiate it, damnit.

I'm praying that the Jets, Dolphins and NE win next week and the Colts and Ravens clinch the wild card. Chad and Miami beat us hats off to them. We beat them we eliminate them and NE. We win Tanny is brilliant, we lose he's a dope. Couldn't ask for more than that.

Oh, I'm sorry I thought this was the NFL and receivers were paid to catch the football. Sorry Favre threw it too hard. Catching the ball is an art better done with hands then body. Watch Donald Driver and Greg Jennings some time. He might learn a thing or two about how receivers catch footballs in the NFL.
I know you're used to Chad's 10 mph floaters, but to blame the QB for velocity is quite comical.

I have no problem with you loving Martin he's got the yardage and consistency to give you a solid argument. I look at him being a notch below the true greats at running the football and belongs in the HOF because of his consistency and longevity. He's Art Monk, not Jerry Rice.

First of all you have nothing to back up anything you say you resort to random statements and then you can't back them up.

I would still love to hear exactly which games you give Favre credit (if any) and which games we won in spite of him.

Second how do you figure that we won in "spite" of him.

He threw for 207 yards and a TD. He threw two INTs. You honestly think he has something to do with Coles dropping it and it bouncing off his heel and into someone's hand is his fault?

The second INT was started at the 50 yard line. So if the defense can't stop a team that scored 6 points in 2 games is the reason we were going to lose? When they scored that TD, it was BUF 10 NYJ 14. We took the lead agian.

Explain how if our offense puts up 24 points, we won in spite of them?

You're right- the two transactions were a day apart, i just did a search on it.

i would have liked it if ratty got the nod, but the way this team spent money for FAs in the off-season, they were planning on taking a shot at winning this year. After last year, the CS couldnt aford another rebuilding year, which is what it would have been with a green Ratliff or an ineffective clemens.

    I agree

That is theater and would be as exciting a game as you can get during Week 17. Football fans in general should be pulling for that game. That would also have the chance of being flexed into prime time.

I doubt any Jets or Fins fan would have trouble getting pumped up for Week 17 if all plays out according to plan.

People need to get real, James has no one to throw to in Miami. Some people just don't want to admit they were wrong about blaming the QB all these years instead of two of the dumbest head coaches the NFL has seen for years.

Favre did not have a great game today, but anyone who thinks that's the primary why it we barely came away with one, and not the play of the D in the first 55 minutes ... is blind, has an agenda, or both.
