yep. What's great about our situation is that WHAT OTHER TEAMS DO IS IRRELEVANT. We control our own destiny. (Another reason today's wild and lucky win was so gratifying is because we STILL control our own destiny) If we beat a 2 win seattle team next week and follow that up by beating the hated dolphins at home with everything on the line, then we get a home playoff game as the #3 seed (I'm assuming Denver can't comeback from their current 17 point defecit to Carolina) and host either the Ravens, Steelers (If the the Ravens hold on and win today they have an excellent shot at taking the AFC North), Patriots, or Dolphins. (The Colts will almost assuredly be the #5 seed as they have head to head tie-breakers with the Ravens, Steelers and Patriots)
Colts could rest their guys Week 17 and give up the 5 seed for the 6. I don't think they really care and the rest would be more important to them.
The Ravens loss is huge, this could open up another wild card spot just in case. They play in Dallas next week.
Sorry for the bump but i am curious if anyone knows the answer to this. i'm not aware of all the tiebreakers.
Right, but right now they ONLY have 4 losses. So if they do that and lose the last week, they willl have 5 losses (Which is the best the Ravens and Pats can do at this point), and again, they have the head to head tie breaker over the other teams in contention for the two wildcard spots. (They beat the Ravens, Patriots, and Steelers)
Baltimore and the Jets both have records of 9-5 and 7-4 (overall, conference). Each team plays vs an NFC team next week, so if the Ravens and Jets both finish 10-6, you have to tell me which games they each lose. If they both finish 11-5 there is nothing to decide because the Jets would secure the 3 seed.
If the Ravens and Jets both finish 10-6 it will likely come down to strength of victory because they will probably have the same conference record unless we lose that 6th game to Miami and not Seattle. We also have the same record vs common opponents. We beat Tenn, they lost to Tenn. They beat Oak, we lost to Oakland. Same with Cincy and Mia too.
boys this is it! The "gift" we got from the "Toronto bills" has given us back our momentum. Yes it was sloppy, but a wins a win and that's how you get started. Just wait, we will prove people wrong and win on the west side by smacking Seattle in their own stadium and then make it come down to the miami jet game at the end of the year. And you know what? 45-10 jets baby! Chad will not do shit and throw for 1 td and 5 ints. Yes I said 5 ints! We are here to prove that we are the team to beat in AFC once again! P.S- Thanks Buffalo and Merry xmas! Hope you like Canada!!!!
So, If the jets lose in seattle, (probably, but I hope not), miami and ne each win, if we we beat miami in the last week, we win the division??????
Well I dont want to be a darksider, but I don't feel good about the seahawk game.... that's one of those that we are SUPPOSED to win........ but you know our jets.......plus the demonstration today that it takes about 8 to 10 men to bring down 1 back.......after yardage.....
Don't worry about the ones we should win because we will win this one! Mike Holgrem knows the "old" favre very very well, but this is the new favre...mr.manager and let the run game do it. We will dominate them...trust me!
did you watch the cardinals today? New England is winning out. It is quite simple the Jets CANNOT lose. If they do playoffs are not happening, and frankly we don't belong in the playoffs if we can't win these next two.
