Ray Lucas and many others are in agreement when I say: GIVE LEON WASHINGTON THE BALL. (Or as Ray Lucas likes to call him, Leon Johnson. In fact, he just did it again  ). I know Thomas Jones is having a great season, but Leon is our number one playmaker on offense. GIVE HIM THE BALL. I would love to know the reason WHY he doesn't get the ball consistently.
Because we have a retarded coaching staff.. Leon should get a big ext in the off season, draft another rb in the first two rounds and turn this team into a running based offense allah pittsburgh cough cowher cough
I understand that Leon needs touches but damn, you have a back having a career year in Thomas Jones, and even he does not get enough touches.
Jones has been playing great too... He does need more carries, but giving TJ the ball also works pretty well I'd say.
Giving a guy as talented as Leon fewer than 5 touches on offense in a game is just foolish... This team should be running the ball a minimum of 25 times every game.... If TJ gets fewer than 20, or Leon fewer than 5, something is wrong... We have the talent to be a very good ball-control O, with serious big play capability, but we just don't give them the ball enough
I think the deep pass would become more effective if we ran about 28 times and threw around 25. Play action, and also D's would be more inclined to have less players in the secondary and more in the box.
Thank God for common sense! TJ has set 2 franchise records for TDs scored this year so it's hardly like he's a slacker. Surely the fact TJ does the lion's share of the work make it possible for Leon to have the impact he does. Similar to what San Diego have had the past few years with Turner and now Sproles benefitting from playing the support role to LT
Turner seems to be doing just fine without LT... And Leon was still explosive last season, despite TJ's lack of production. Bottom line- Give Leon the rock 5+ times every game, and watch the results
DeAngelo Williams is right behind TJ in rushing yards, but Carolina still gets Stewart the ball. Chester Taylor gets touches behind Adrian Peterson. Teams use 2 running backs, it's not really an outlandish concept. There should be room for at least 5-10 touches a game for Leon. No excuse for him only having 1 carry, especially when that 1 carry was a TD.
Just look at the correlation between the carries Leon gets and us winning the game. It's unfathomable that we can figure this out...but the CS cannon. http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/players/7866/gamelog;_ylt=AtErhGOnao0sDjb.22AJv0n.uLYF
Leon has the explosiveness to be a Brian Westbrook type of player. I'm not looking for that many touches because Jones has been doing just fine. What Leon should get, at minimum, is the same number of touches that Kevin Faulk gets. Leon is a younger, better version of Faulk and Faulk has a tremendous impact in virtually every game he play.
This is a no brainer. This man has to touch it more, more tocuhes for Leon and the chances for good things happening goes way up. It's not that difficult to see that.
We don't run the ball nearly enough, we need to get the ball more to Leon and TJ. Favre is not good enough at this point in his career to carry an offense. The running game is, we need to run the ball more.
