He is Brett Favre (one of the most popular players in the NFL) and he is in New York. not only does favre get votes from the jets fan base but he gets them from the Packers too, as well as fans who just like Favre. Favre doesn't need a probowl season to get in the probowl (but at least he doesn't play in them anymore so he lets someone have the chance to get in.) Although, the reason he doesn't play anymore is probably because his friends like Steve Young are no longer in it.
thats fantastic, but is he having a pro bowl season? just to let you know, I understand the legacy of Brett Favre and love him as a player and person. But he isn't having a pro bowl season. He's having a good season.
The idiotic fan vote is only 1/3 of the equation. The fact that someone is first or second now does not guarantee their inclusion on the team. The coaches and players also get to vote.
Good to see Thomas Jones is behind LT who has been quiet and Ronnie Brown, Jones just leads the afc in rushing. Wallace Wright should be on Special Teams..
I see two big problems with pro bowl voting. 1st) It should end after the season is over, not a few weeks before. Some good players could have major slumps in the last few weeks, and some borderline players could have some great weeks, but go unnoticed. 2nd) I have no problem with fan voting, to a certain extent. I don't like it that they allow people to vote as many times as they want. There should be one set of votes per person. I know people would find ways to bend the rules even if there were very good registration procedures, but that extra effort wouldn't be worth it for most people, so overall it would be more fair.
