Anytime the Jets are in a good situation, they fuck sometime up and make it as hard as possible in order to make the playoffs. if the Jets started of 9-0, they would lose the next 6 and have to win the last game in order to make the post season.

What everyone fails to think about is that the entire year we have had no ability to stop the pass. It took a while before teams figured this out and schemed to take advantage of that weakness.

We have slow linebackers, Elam is horrible and after Revis our corners are just garbage. The Jets defense was built to stop the run but it's way to slow to stop the pass.

Do any of you really think a team that can't stop the pass is going to win a superbowl? It's moronic to even think that. We do not have the players this year to make a SB run.

circa 1986 when that scenario happened, we actually went 10-0 that year, backed into the playoffs after losing the next 6, somehow pulled off a round 1 victory and them mark gastineau fucked us in the dawg pound on a roughing the passer penalty. We had a decent shot the next week against Denver but would have gotten stomped by Parcells and the giants in the SB, which would have further added to the inferiority complex we have in NY.

we need to win the next 3 games to regain confidence to try and make a sb run. however, if we finish 10-6 and still make the playoffs we will be eliminated in the wild card or the following week.

We hold our own destiny in our hands. Just win. I don't care - anything can happen if we can just get in the playoffs.

Say we win one at home against a team we shouldn't (like, the ravens or something), then we go on the raod to to some other place, titans, whatever. Favre has a big game, and despite defensive lapse, we somehow win in a shootout. AFC Title game - who the hell knows what happens. 300 yards rushing between TJ and Leon? Defense gets a big turnover to seal it?

ANything can happen. Remember how PATHETIC the colts defense was going into their super bowl run in the playoffs? Sure, Bob Sanders helps, but the colts defense played with confidence. I don't know if it's going to take a MONSTER game in round one from Kris Jenkins to get the fire lit in the D, but ANYTHING can happen. Last year proved that, and the season before.

The jets just need to get in, then hope the guys we have come up big when it matters most. Favre, TJ/Leon, Coles/Cotchery, Kris Jenkins and Calvin Pace. The veterans on this team were brought here to win once we got in the playoffs, so lets get in the playoffs and see what happens.

How many games of this nature have we lost this year? I count at least two, maybe three, so no, I am not going to chill.

So have the colts. So ahve the cardinals (who are in the playoffs). So have the Giants (ok, really only one fo the two losses was bad). Uh, Ravens - check. Steelers - check.

Every serious playoff contendor, save the Titans, have lost games they had no buisness losing,a nd normally mutiple of them. The jets are no different.

The difference is: We have NE and the direct threat since we own tie breakers over NE, Miami breathing down our necks.

Please name a team that looks like they have a clue in a loss.

TB is a pretty good team with a very good D. They were fucking dominated Monday. Is Monte Kiffin now clueless? Is that how losing works?

Thats a question to the board...I really don't get why Jets fans curl into such a tight ball after a loss....it's fuckin...football lol....

It was 10-1. The Jets didn't make it to 2-0, let alone 10-0. That doesn't change the point of your post, though.

The Jets won in the Wild Card game because the Chiefs had a lot of issues, too. They canned their head coach after the game.

Didn't we do a pretty good job gainst the Cardinals in the first half of that game? They gave in in the second half but we had a few tunrovers. We can do it if we have our heads screwed on right.

Same could be said of the many who seem to assume that Cowher would want to come back into coaching.

He probably will...but he also probably won't...thats the fun with probablys.

Point taken. I agree, who even knows if he wants to coach. Those chairs in the CBS studio will be more comfortable then the hot seat coaching the Jets or any other team.

The Redskins threw 10 million a year at him last year and he said NO..so why would he come out this year?

You mean like the Raiders and Chargers. Or the Titans losing to the Jets ?

The Raiders I see ur point but the Chargers have the talent to beat anybody in the league.
How many of those teams ran off 5 straight wins? You don't do that in the NFL unless you are a good team not saying there a great team. I never at one time said about the Jets going to the SB I don't know if we can beat the Steelers if we are at the top of our game.

Do you really think coaches care about that when they are making that type of money? Plus when Gibbs came back to the Skins Snyder keep his nose out of it. I live here in VA so you know all I here about is the Redskins. The Skins practice like 2 miles from my house.
