The Pats play 4 west coast games this year just like the Jets. Why did the NFL schedule bunch these games together? The Pats can now stay on the west coast twice and avoid having to fly across the four times like we did. Did the Pats ask for this? Why was it allowed?
The Pats made the best of a shitty situation of playing back to back twice on the west coast, which they were none too happy about. Instead of flying back and forth two times on back to back weeks, the teams ownership and management spent the bucks to keep them there. It didn't help the first time because the they got killed by the Chargers 2nd time around. Then again, everything in the NFL is a conspiracy to help the Pats, so....
To be fair to the Patriots, they also had to play the Colts and Steelers. They lost 1 and got owned in the other. NYJ and MIA by finishing 4-12 and 1-15 last year avoided both of those teams..
Pats beat Donkos 41-7 Jets beat Titans..... Pats would have had to make back to back West Coast trips twice in the season...not exactly something teams want to do..... Pats decimated by injuries..looks like Bruschi going on IR with knee injury...Wilfork has shoulder injury...Warren out with groin/thigh injury..... Just call the Patriots the New England Timex......
My question was did the Pats ask the NFL to have these games back to back so they wouldn't have to travel to the west coast 4 times???
I had my Dad over for dinner last night, he is a big Giant Fan. I told him I did not want to talk football but guess what it ended up there anyway. I started to state how when the jets play bad, luck seems to turn on us and also other events effect us too. This past weekend Miami- the ultimate warm weather team (numero uno) gets to play a december game in buffalo indoors. How does the league make this a division game- it not only hurts Buffalo it is unfair to Jets and Patriots- now you can say well we won anyway, but what if Miami had lost? Each team plays 10 games outside there division 5 home games outside division. Could the league have not made the Toronto game a non division game? Additionally the 4 west coast trips really suck, the way the fall etc.... Geez we only play 8 times in NY, we got to go to West Coast 50% as much. I am long time Jet fan and I guess cynical by nature but does this not seem typical of Jets misfortune? Also I might be wrong on this, but I feel if cotchery recovers the fumble as he did last week or there is no holding call on the washington return we find a way to be 1 and 1 the last two and feeling much much better about ourselves. I understand the Denver game seemed to get away from us at that point. Our season has been simple also when we score first for the most part we win, when we don't we struggle or lose. Go Jets
A little info on the Patriots' schedule. I heard this being discussed on the radio this morning and I thought to myself - ummmm, WHAT?!!
Right but you have to take into account that when they were making the schedule the Steelers and Colts were in most Top5s and the Titans barely made it in most people's Top 15.
Interesting, I wasn't aware that you could "request" a favorable schedule. Gotta love Bob Kraft's connections
I can't imagine Miami would be playing in the Meadowlands three days after Christmas, if this were widely known.
Krafty wins again .. Hopefully they can pull out a victory, and take advantage of this competitive edge ..
This is why are started this thread. That's such a load of bullshit that they can request this. It's such a big disadvantage to have to travel across the country and play a game.
Glad you are finally seeing things my way. The Pats have made the NFL a shitload of money over the past three years. Why would the NFL want to see the dynasty end? More generally, I think the pro-Pats* bias by the league here is outrageous. Gee, next year, why don't we make sure that the Pats* get to host all warm weather teams in Foxboro in December 2009: the Dolphins, the Jags, and the Bucs? Could the NFL and Goodell be any further up Kraft's ass? Kraft: "So can we get those back-to-back WC games like we talked about? Goodell: "Sure, no problem, we want to make sure you guys get back on top so we can still keep printing money based on jersey sales, and of course, Tom's Stetson cologne. I hear sales of it are way up at Wal-Mart."
Maybe your boys should of requested this as well .. Don't know if they did, but something they could of pushed for ..
well they played the broncos as well. our 2 different games were Titans and Bengals. Pats had indy and Pitt.
That's yesterdays news .. Your boyee Meriweather says hi .. Rhodes .. 66 tackles / 1 Sack / 0 Forced Fumbles / 1 Pic .. BM .. 67 tackles / 1 sack / 1 Forced Fumble / 4 pics .. Ps.. Inside joke for the rest of you blood hungry trolls ..
