You can't trade draft picks in baseball.

I'd rather have Schneider than any of the FA options. Imagine Varitek or Pudge? Blech.

I just heard on the radio that the Mets signed K-Rod for 3/$37.

Unless I'm missing something, that is a great deal for the Mets. Nice to see them able to take advantage of a soft market for a change.

Street and Lowe would be amazing now, but probably too much to hope for.

Street isn't going to be traded until July. The Rockies have a good commodity in a bad market, too many closers are available. Maximum value = July.

I give this deal two thumbs up, though the 4th year vesting option's a little worrisome. Still though, we don't have to worry about the 9th inning now, and while K-Rod blew 7 saves last year, the AL-to-NL switch should help. I'm pumped. Still, we have a lot of work to do.

actually they have manny corpas as their closer and are working derrek turnbow out who is a free agent.

huston for heilman & feliciano gives them lefty specialist feliciano and heilman a starter.

I know who they have closing, which is why he a commodity. He does NOT want to be an 8th inning man, he has stated that several time. It's why he wanted out of Oakland.
