This guy is really a class act and the consummate team player. Some highlights: Francessa sighted some stats where in Jets victories Leon had multiple touches a game from line of scrimmage, but in last 2 losses, he's had 3 touches. Learned a lot from C-Mart, Favre fits in with team despite what LC said, passing game struggling because failure to execute. I think the first note is huge. Give Leon ball we win, don't and we lose. GIVE HIM THE DAMN BALL!!!
Nice to hear no panic in the locker room, but we heard the same thing last week. Wake up calls and humble pie, etc... Will believe it when i see it. And yes, they need to give him the damn ball more...
Its a good interview its on the yes network right now hes saying all the right things, the jets should give him the ball more hes such an explosive player
Leon is awesome...but T.Jones is no slouch either. The run game isn't the problem here,folks....it's been one of the few bright spots this season.
It seems like the coaching staff spends more time telling the players what to think and what to tell the media than on actual game planning and preparing the team to win. They all the same thing- execution, execution, execution. Fuck that...there are bigger problems than just execution.
To me the most revealing statement Leon made was that his teammates were distracted by the media after the Titans game and lost their focus and started believing the "Super Bowl" hype. What's really interesting about this was that during the Mangini press conference before the loss to the Broncos, a reporter addressed this exact problem and Mangini dismissed it, which gives me the impression that mangini does not have a good feel for what his locker room is thinking.
i'm thinking the fact that nobody in our secondary could cover a 200 year old relic like Isaac Bruce is a bigger problem than abandoning the run.
I don't think Mangini would ever admit that his team had bought into the "Super Bowl hype" even if he knew it to be true. It's not necessarily a reflection on whether Mangini has a pulse on what's going on in the locker room.
Very good point,to me the Jets have played like a over confident, unprepared team the last two weeks. This I see as a coaching problem, the coaching staff needs to get their head out of their ass and have the team prepared.
I agree with this. When several players say the exact same thing you know they are repeating what the coaches have told them. Every week the Jet players spout off a brand new party line. I miss the old days when players had more personality and being a bad character guy amounted to nothing more than getting laid so much it made other men jealous. Today's players are zombies.
