In the 2nd half of the Pats game, I feel that's where the nightmare started. They came in and passed us to death... The only reason we beat the Titans is because they refused to learn from what the Patriots had uncovered, but the Broncos and the 49ers certainly did their HW.

As far as we go, well we just keep on doing the same thing over and over and assume its going to work.

Lets face it guys, we aren't a very good team. We can't stop the pass, because we have no pass rush. We've made sh1tty QBs look like Joe Montana out there.

This is just not going to be our year... We need more pieces.

I'm pretty sure we beat the previously undefeated Titans after the Patriots game.

Actually, I think Arizona did this (and yes, we beat them too, but still).

I understand that the CS is worried about our secondary,so they limit the rush. but it's killing us. IMO,if you rush the hell out of the qb,eventually he is going to get very uncomfortable back there and start to make mistakes. We have got to start roughing up the QBs!!!

The Dolphins in the second half did the same thing. Every team that we have played has tried to do this.

What we need to do is set the tone. Put Gholston out there on the first obvious passing down and tell him to completely destroy the QB regardless of whether or not he's thrown the ball. Demand helmet to helmet contact and an obnoxious taunt afterwards.

Right, which is why I said that they were just stuborn and tried to run on us which was a mistake.

But the 49ers and the Broncos just passed us to death.

I think the difference in the Titans game is that we were actually able to get some pressure on Collins - not a lot of sacks, but at least we didn't give him all day to sit in the pocket like we have with others. That said, the Titans dropped a lot of passes that could have gone for big plays against us.

With the D continuing to be called the way it is (inflexible and predictable) it doesn't look like we stand much chance against even the weaker passing attacks in the league. Coaching has been awful - will they ever wake up?

Don't know man... every time I see a long down..like 2nd and long or 3d and long and I see us rush only 3 it makes me want to vomit all over the screen.

What doesnt make sense is that if they didnt trust our secondary why wouldnt they rush teh QB more? I mean if you dotn trust the cover guys why put them in situations where they have to cover for extended time periods? The only way to limit that is to get pressure on the QB. But then you will see the quick slants if we blitz which our linebackers cant cover so we are screwed either way.

    I 2nd that!

Especially since we let them convert just about every time we do that.

The 49ers were 8 for 15 on 3rd down attempts. The Jets were 1 of 11. That's just bad execution all around. The pass D sucks and has consistently sucked, but the coaching staff needs to make some adjustments when the offense isn't doing well.

all you gotta do to beat the jets defense is call a pass play, simple as that and a team will be successful. theres a reason why we are dead last in pass defense.

Aren't screen passes supposed to punish the defense for aggressively rushing the QB? So the Jets can't blitz and they also can't stop a screen pass? Something is rotten in Florham Park.

It's really annoying when you do that red font thing. It doesn't have to be screen passes; it's pretty much any pass aimed at the receiver 'covered' by Coleman/Elam/Poteat/Barrett.

Yeah. Don't forget the Chargers destroying us. Teams don't need a blueprint, we are not the 2007 Patriots. You can do whatever you want to use in the passing game, we won't stop you. If there's a blueprint, only the Rams have failed to get it.

I am seeing the Jets defense going into cover schemes with no blitz packages in passing situations, especially when we get a nice lead. When you are only rushing 3 or 4 guys with no help, and they need some help, the opposing QB is getting all day to drop off little underneath throws that go for big yards. How many times are we going to let this happen on 3rd and long? How many times are we going to let teams come back on us from big deficits? I think Sutton is the problem. A good coordinator would have figured this out already, Sutton has a bad system. Spagnola, the Giants coordinator does more with less talent because the system works. This is so frustrating!
