This board is so reactionary, it's sad.

I know we lost to Denver and San Francisco in back to back weeks. It looks like the sky is falling. We played like crap today. I understand.

But losing this game doesn't mean we'll tank the rest of the season. We're not 8-5 by accident, this team is a good football team. Are we a great football team? Clearly not right now, these last two games have proven that.

But it was just recently that people called us the most balanced team in the NFL. That talent is still there. It just has not executed recently. The coaching has also not done its job recently.

But we're still 8-5, and we still control our own destiny.

We're going to beat Buffalo next week. If you're going to reply with something whining about how we can't beat anybody, wake up and look at how they've played recently. No game is ever a lock, but this is a game that we should definitely win.

Denver is going to the playoffs and matched up well against us. Even San Francisco isn't that bad, and they've played a lot better with Shaun Hill and Mike Singletary.

If we beat Buffalo, then we go back to the west coast to face Seattle. Again, we should beat them, but that will be difficult as road games out west are never easy.

Then at home against Miami. Let the fish freeze in the cold!

Just take a step back and look at the whole body of work. I think the last two games were the two toughest games left on the schedule, though the last game against Miami could be huge.

I have not lost all hope. Do I think we're going to win the Super Bowl? Hell no, we played like crap today against a team we should have beaten. But the ability is there, and this team has shown they can do it.

These last two games were our margin of error. Now, that's gone, and we need to start winning games. Am I the only one left on this board with any confidence we can make the playoffs?

No, I believe the Jets can make the playoffs. They can beat Buffalo and I KNOW they can beat Miami. The Seahawks game is the only left that worries me really.

You are not. I also think the Jets can make the playoffs- and they should.

What upsets me is they opted to make their chore a more difficult one. I could understand one toe-stubbing defeat, but losing to both Denver and San Francisco? That's a little much.

Thank you I am glad to find that some people have the voice of reason. I was concerned about this game after the first quarter. I got over the loss quickly...am I pissed as hell of course but I realize its not the end of the world

Since I became a die hard fan I have to say that I have more faith in this team than I have ever had in lots of other teams, despite the recent short comings. We have three more games lets make them count

Sorry but I think they did not opt to make the chore more difficult. Do u really believe they went out to SF saying they wanted to lose. Choose your words wisely. PLus the Denver lose was bad but last time I looked Denver is not a terrible team. I still blieve this is not the same ol Jets. I am over the loss and we need to go on a role.

I agree but there is a huge need for concern here.

I'm a Mets fan and I remember sitting there the last two seasons watching the Mets lose to teams they should beat and saying "There playing bad but there still in first" and then pretty soon they werent in first anymore. There is huge reason for concern here IMO. Playoff teams shouldnt lose to 4 win teams in December when your in a tight playoff race.

Is it true that if we go 2-1 down the stretch we miss the playoffs?

3 absolute must win games is a tall order. The division 2 weeks ago was ours to lose with an easy schedule left. It's worse for us to lose it than any of the other teams. We picked up Favre and had the lead. Miami was 1-15,no one was expecting much, they are already a success story. NE lost brady week 1,amazing they are still in contention. Buffalo was out of it weeks ago.

I know lol. I was thinking maybe if I get a sig of like David Barret, Bryan Thomas and Drew Coleman they will go away to.

I think I had the sig made on here in like 2006 and havent changed it since.

While true, you knew as a Jets fan that they will always make things difficult although I had a feeling they may screw up one more time in the West Coast, but I didn't think it would be so soon.

So I was crazy for calling out this team after we shitted on the football field against the Broncos, and now we get our asses handed to us by a shitty San Francisco team and I'm supposed to look at the bright side?

We are playing like shit, which means we may have peaked 3 weeks ago. This is not good, and even if we DO make the playoffs, we're not getting very far.

Last week I was telling people to relax because I felt as if we were due for a letdown and the matchup was bad. Today there is no excuse... SF is a garbage team that we should have blown out of the water. Instead they completely dominated us. It looks like the two big wins were more of an aberration and this team is really just average.

It would depend on who we lose to and how the losses across the AFC would fall

I'm sorry my friend but there won't be many more wins this season. It?s a mediocre team that frankly doesn't belong in the playoffs and won?t get there. There is no heart on this team, and that starts at the top..

Yeah, I think it's safe to say that the Titans just had a really bad game. Forget about the Patriots game, since it's not like they're a dominating team this year anyway.

    Fuck.

there was a red flag right in the middle of our win streak. We dominated the Pats only to give the game right back to them with the same shit defense we saw today. We won that game on a coin toss.

No those on this board deserve to be mad, this team is totally bi-polar and after 14 weeks we still don't know what kind of team we are going to be.

It's not that we don't think they can make the playoffs, it's that making the playoffs wasn't the goal.

The goal after spending $140 million dollars and bringing in Favre was to win the super bowl, not just make the playoffs like we do every even year. And after the 8-3 start, it looked like we were on track for that.

After these last 2 games, it's clear we took 2 big steps back. Instead of playing for a bye, we are playing for our playoff lives entering 3 must win games. This team no longer looks like a super bowl team, which is the goal.

I pray the win out, and return to form.
