Per ESPN - Hanover Township Police Capt. Shawn Waldron.. said Ellis had less than 50 grams on him, making it a disorderly persons offense in New Jersey. "So it's not even really considered a crime," Waldron said.
For those who are stating that Ellis needs to be suspended: SETTLE DOWN!! The guy was caught with a small amount of weed. He was not high. He was probably on his way to the practice facility at that time of the morning. He could have been polite and known where his insurance and such were. This happens in real life every day. He has been a model citizen since he was drafted by the Jets. If he had any other prior instances, I would agree to suspend him. Im sure he has been torn a new one by the Jets management. Also, those of us posting here who are choir boys, please cast the first stone. :drunk:
Me too. I sparked up with patrick willis before he graduated..but to spark up with a Jet..now that'd be something.
Hi, I'm new here, but I read the boards a lot, and I'm a pretty big jets fan for a number of years. I support pretty hard core because a few of the players live in my neighborhood. The guy that pulled Shaun over is the biggest d**k in town. He is out to get everybody and never gives any breaks. He went to the HS in my town, which is also the town he is in, and he got picked on pretty badly. Now has to get revenge on everybody for what happened to him many years back (specifically the offspring of the people that picked on him). Many of the cops in my town, excluding him would not have given Shaun all of those tickets, and probably just given him a ticket for the pot and nothing else. My buddy got pulled over by him on halloween and he gave him a ticket for having his music too loud (around 7 pm at night), as well as having his truck "too high", as well as a ticket for littering because he threw a butt out the window. It sucks for us and it sucks for Shaun that he got arrested for possesion, but really the situation is not that bad.
lmao i was thinking the same thing, i can see myself sitting in the rotation with the Big Cat along with Kris Jenkins, Kerry Rhodes, Leon Washington and Jerricho Cotchery.
Yeah, I don't blame Shaun. After watching the Jets lose the other day, I had to bring out the bong myself.
given what we have seen of the defensive coaching staff, i'm not surprised. there could be more players trying to escape from the incompetance.
You should post his name and address. We can all go over to his place and throw bongs at his front door.
I toke every once in a while whenever it's around, take a little puff, puff pass. It's not the end of the world, at least he wasn't doing some real hard stuff. ricky williams
Let's Go Green! I am with you. It is not a crime. Marijuana should be legal, already. Imagine how much legal marijuana could improve our economy. It's a (bad) joke that our politicians are controlled by drug dealers who profit from illegal drugs. The people who want to keep drugs illegal are the drug dealers themselves. They make so much money from the black market that it's not even funny. GO GREEN!
Hpefully, this is a wake up call for Ellis... It's been my experience that a wake up call without repercussions (other than embarassment) usually doesn't work...
A main reason that marijuana is not legal is because there is allegedly no test to determine specific levels of THC on the spot (like a breathalizer), therefore making it relatively impossible to determine what would constitute under the influence in driving situations... This is coming from somebody who, throughout the course of his lifetime, has smoked more marijuana then some small countries... and, although not for the past 5 or 6 years, I still have no problem with it...
Haha yeah and the next couple of weeks he's going to be so friggin stressed and pissy from not smoking that he's going to have a record amount of sacks.
