Good point. And its not like we don't have serviceable players starting in front of him. i just wish we had gotten a player that could contribute immediately and help this team win (A CB or Safety). i have a feeling that this year will be our best shot at a SB

Did you mean "Maybe Gholston's performance is due to bad coaching."?

I don't know... I mean, to me Gholston looks slow, no burst, and very awkward in space... Those are not things you can generally coach.

It doesn't take good coaching to run in a straight line and hit the quarterback.

Let's face it: Gholston's performance is bad because...he probably sucks. Meaning our front office was either duped or doesn't know how to evaluate prospects, or both.

It's clearly not that our F.O. doesn't know how to evaluate prospects. You can't hit on as many draft picks as they have and not know what they're doing.

We were had for the latest combine workout warrior bust. He had three great games last year and was mediocre to unseen the rest of the season. If he can't even get in on pass rushing situations on this team and he is a sack specialist what is there to say. He just plain s**ks.

Yes, Gholston and all the other Jets suck because the coaches suck.

That's not fair ... EVERYONE was duped if he turns out to be a bust. He was top 10 pick on everyones draft boards..

To me he looks more cut out to be a 4/3 DE. That is where I believe he will end up (and not necessarily on this squad).

Yes it is most definitely Bad Coaching. If a future Hall Of fame coach like Belichick got his meathooks on Gholston, Gholston would have 8 sacks by now. He would be terrorizing the QB's for the next 10 years!

Look at Victor Hobson for example. He was a below average starter for the Jets and went to the Patriots in free agency and is now coached by the all world Belichick and out of the evil clutches of that terrible coach we call Mangini. Look what Hobson has done to prove this theory correct............... Shit, he beat out their vaunted 90 y/o linebackers and became all pro ?

LOL what ever makes you sleep at night. Yep Mangini harmed him irreparably.

I refuse to pass judgement on Gholston until next season.
I'm not happy with him at all, but let's see where he's at next season. Maybe he's a late bloomer?

Remember the scouting reports that said "Ghost" was prone to taking plays off ?
Who knew it would be a whole season once he got paid.
