As much as we've tried to dismiss them and wish them away...the Dolphins are a contender down the home stretch of the season. How they got there...who knows. No name players, trickery, luck, Chad Pennington.... They've managed to patch it together and now sit 1 game behind us. Now they did lose Camarillo their best receiver and just barely defeated Seattle and St. Louis, two absolute laughing stocks and were soundly beaten by the Pats (who were coming off a loss to us) I just hope the last game of the season isn't a 1991 type win and you're in, lose and you go home scenario. Because I feel the football gods want to extract some payback for the 02-03 miracle they granted us. I wouldn't be able to stomach Chad celebrating on our field in a Fish uniform. Talk about cruelty Another thing to consider is that if Buffalo beats Miami, they will come into the Meadowlands an energized team with playoff aspirations, but if they lose Buffalo will be 6-7 and a dead carcass. So Miami winning next week could actually help us in the short term should we take care of business in San Francisco.
Buffalo has no chance to win the East, they don't even have one win in the division yet. If we don't want the last game to be for the division title, we better hope Miami loses. Miami's two games before us is San Fran and KC.
Bring on the Fish. It sure will tickle my cockels to play and hopefully beat Penny and the Fish on the last game of the season.
I don't mean division title aspirations, just 6 seed. Buffalo at 7-6 knows if they win out they have a chance at the wild card.
I'm not afraid of Miami, fuck Miami, they couldn't run on us the 1st time, they won't do it again against a team the has jelled. The Jets aren't finding their identity anymore, they know how to win football games. Miami and the 49ers are the two teams I want to play. Buffalo is playing back to back division opponents on the road... that team isn't good enough to handle that. They are going to get fucked up too. That leaves Seattle as the one team posing a problem.... but after how pissed Mangini is, I don't see this team losing focus.
Miami has been squeaking by some bad teams the last month(of course they did beat Den in that stretch though). Anything can happen in a 1 game situation but if we play like we can there's no way Miami beats us but if we play like we did last week then we'd be in trouble.
We've taken 2 HUGE hits to our offense... losing both Camarillo and LG Justin Smiley for the year in back to back weeks... If the Fins win the next 3 weeks (Buf, SF, and KC)... it will come down to week 17 for the division. We hold all the tie breakers in that scenerio... so if we win out, we win the division...
What's your definition of holding all the tiebreakers? By my count it would come down to conference record in a straight head-to-head with the Jets. I have no idea how a 3-way tie would play out, we'd all have identical division and head-to-head records.
For the division the tiebreaker after divisional record is common opponents. We've gone 1-3 against the AFC west. Dolphins hold that tiebreaker.
NFC West are also common opponents. We're 2-0 there and potentially 4-0, which would put us to 5-3 against common opponents. Miami have beaten St Louis, Denver, San Diego, Seattle, Oakland. They've lost to Arizona. They'd have to beat KC and SF to win out, so they'd be 7-1. Bah.
Well, in that scenerio, we will have the same overall record, would have split the head to head, and have the same division record. The tie breaker that would decide it is record against common opponents... which we have over you.
Why is anyone worried about tie-breakers with the Lphins? We're going to shitpiss all over those fags without even trying.
seattle might be worse team on scedule first off lame duck coach no recievers to exploit or weakness and no heart with that said why are we even worrying about a game that is after christmas geez nearly a 1/4 of season will still need to be played before that game if we cant beat miami at home division on line we dont deserve itl
I don't like it!! If we are going to lose a game, it cannot be against BUF or MIA. If NYJ/NE/MIA all end up at 11-5 (would involve us losing to MIA) we're out of the playoffs. If NE win out and we lose to either BUF or MIA then we lose the DIV. If MIA win out they'll win the division... 1 Head-to-head (best won-lost-tied percentage in games between the clubs). 2 Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the division. 3 Best won-lost-tied percentage in common games. 4 Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the conference. 5 Strength of victory. 6 Strength of schedule. 7 Best combined ranking among conference teams in points scored and points allowed. 8 Best combined ranking among all teams in points scored and points allowed. 9 Best net points in common games. 10 Best net points in all games. 11 Best net touchdowns in all games. Coin toss This is all under the assumption that NE would win out and/or MIA win out. We gotta take care of business!!
u win a dogfight against st louis and peep up in here please your good enough to string 5 together not a chance we willl drill u anyway
