For obvious reasons (the location of the Jets being one of them) the SEC doesn't get much coverage in this section. I'm going to try to update this thread now and then for those who do follow the Southeastern Conference, and kind of provide it as a place to discuss what's going on. One little thread for our own corner of the board. Haha. Croom is out at MS State after being routed by Ole Miss 45-0 after Thanksgiving. What a game that was. LSU's loss to Arky was priceless. Les Miles is toast. The fans want him fired. Any LSU fans know what's going on with that? I've seen a couple here. Bama should win the National Title if they can beat Florida for the SEC title. I just don't see a Big 12 team standing up to the Alabama defense. Tuberville is once again at risk of losing his job at Auburn. A lot of drama going into the off season this year. 8 SEC schools are bowl eligible. they are posted below with their wins. The SEC champ is going to win the BCS, I just don't think its going to be Bama. Croom did the right thing stepping down, I'm interested to see where he winds up because I still think he'll make an excellent coach in the future.
He'll probably end up at a BCS school as a coordinator - if Ellis Johnson leaves South Carolina to become the Miss State head coach, look for Spurrier to go after Croom.
It's ok because we dish them out too. I've got a picture of me in the grove with my girlfriend holding up a towel that cost us 10 bucks from a vendor. In brilliant red writing it read "The Nutt Rag" and "Go Rebels!!!" Some friends of mine and I have a cafepress site in the works. "60 minutes of Nutt in your face, brought to you by the Ole Miss Rebels." is a slogan we coined drunk one night and are going to try to pay the beer expenses with.
Croom needs some time at a big name school in the conference. He's SEC caliber and should consider any other job (except something at a Texas or socal) an insult. If Ellis Johnson comes into Mississippi i'm going to really enjoy next year's egg bowl.
