I honestly would rather be underdogs on the road. I think this team is better on the road against any team as opposed to at home against a solid or good team.
    Why?

I think this team is better when it's us against the world.

The Jets home field isn't that good in my opinion. Every week the Jets go into these other stadiums and it just seems so loud and hostile and tough to play. Giants stadium always seems kind of quiet compared to those stadiums. Maybe it's just the TV sound from the stadium but the Jets fans never seem to give the opposing teams offenses a tough time. It never seems that loud.

While I find it hard to say i would like the Jets chances better on the road, one thing is for sure the Jets do not have a solid homefield advantage. yesterday's crowd was a joke. Fans came in late, left early and were not loud at all. completely unacceptable for a late season first place showdown

Our crowd doesn't even give us an advantage. They're never loud; we have some of the worst fans in the NFL. They leave at halftime when we're down two scores...

That's a complete Lie. We have one of the loudest crowds around

If we don't get the bye, I almost would rather be a road team. I do not want to play the Colts in the first round. Manning would kill us.

I take it some of you have never been to a JETS game w/meaning?

Like maybe the GB Clincher or the Colts home playoff game?
Quiet my ass. We can bring it problem is that there are too many half ass fans who'd rather stay home even when the JETS are kickin ass.

Truth be told, it's the FO's fault because there is a totally different makeup of fans than just 5 years ago.
It is being geared more towards women and families and while that may be all and good the fact remains that's most likely the group to stay home if it's too cold or because of band practice.

I don't think so. I think we have one of the quietest crowds. They are rarely ever loud when they need to try and make it tough for the offense to communicate.

If not for the weather, I would think yesterday's game would have had the atmosphere of the late season 2002 games. Royal Tee is right, a lot of you sound like you've never been to a Jets game with meaning.

If the Jets play a home playoff game in November, on a rainy, miserable day, with ridiculous traffic as the world returns home from Thanksgiving weekend trips, and they come out flat and fall behind by two scores and look clueless and unprepared....well, then i dont think homefield will be much of an advantage.

But that said, I'd love to see them have at least one home playoff game, and if they win that, I'd give them a good shot at playing well on the road the next week.

You and Royal Tee must mean that The Jets have not had a meaningful game since 2002 then.

What home game since the GB clincher/Colts Wildcard games has been as important?
If the Jets played a home playoff game in November I'd be really confused.

word. I remember that stadium shook to the gound during that GB...during a tv timeout.. when everyone heard on their portable radios that the pats won... I think the problem is that everyone wants to go crazy its jsut so emotionally draining supporting this team

Like maybe the GB Clincher or the Colts home playoff game?

Exactly. That's why yesterday's crowd has absolutely no bearing on what the homefield would be like if they had a home playoff game in January.

I was at the GB game and then the home playoff game against the Colts we won, and the crowds were freaking great at both. Meadow Soprano started things off with a national anthem (mmmm....Meadow Soprano....), and things just got better from there.

I think the team's crowd will be fine and is the least of our concerns. I bet if we beat SF the place will be rocking when we host the Bills.

    not "Good" loud-
    loud after we score-
loud during kick offs with our chant
not loud when oppenent has 3 and 9 and we are up 6 time running down.
    that is the problem
    too much drinking and shannanigans
our games border on a frat party during regular season
now don't get me wrong have been to home playoff games or late season games
when ticket holders keep tickets and it is different for sure.
listen the other day was a holiday weekend- I have been to these games
always alot of opponent fans, college kids etc.... I am sure case the other day too
they are not sitting through that weather

If the Jets play any more games like they did on Sunday, I don't think home field advantage will be an option.
