South Carolina has one of the worst offenses in the country. They were ranked because their #1 SEC defense got them there. In the first half, Spurrier ran a QB-by-committee...using a QBs on every other play. No rhythm = no success = BLOWOUT LOSS The first play of the game put all of the momentum in the Gators' hands... I don't doubt that they are the best in the country, but that game was ugly because Spurrier is a moron.
TTU, USC, and Oklahoma all have the offenses to keep up with Florida - it should be a fun championship to watch. I love shootouts...
South Carolina had one of the ugliest offenses that I have ever seen in that game along with basically giving Florida a free TD, Florida should blow them out.
Four? ...maybe 2. MAYBE. Texas Tech's defense would probably get manhandled by Florida's offense, but the Red Raiders would be able to score, like always. Oklahoma is probably the most physical team in the Big 12. They'd have the best shot at shutting down Tebow, Harvin, Demps, Rainey, Moore, Murphy, Cooper, and so on and so on... Texas and OK State wouldn't be able to keep up with all of Urban Meyer's weapons. Either of those matchups wouldn't even come close to being fair. Florida has too many weapons. They are a VERY young team, especially on defense. It took a while for the Gators to gel, but they have become the best and most dangerous team in the country. I pray they make it to the national championship.
Spurrier has lost it. He is a rotating QBs! The only thing Carolina had going earlier in the season was their passing game, and Spurrier ripped that to shreds yesterday with his idiotic gameplan. There's no chance for either of the two kids to get into a rhythm out there when they are coming off the field every other play.
and they're only 4th in the BCS. They basically need to beat Alabama and have Texas lose, because OU or TT will be ahead of them next week, most likely.
If Florida beats Bama in the SEC Championship game, they could leap frog the others...just like Texas Tech did to Penn State a few weeks ago. I honestly believe Urban Meyer is out for blood and he will beat the hell out of Alabama and run up the score to show everyone in this country who the best team is.
Go Gators! 'Bama is big and tough up front but their team has nowhere near the speed of Fla. They would need to grind out a win and I don't see that happening.
Rainey, Demps, and Moody will show the nation that Florida is more than a two man offense. Sure the Gators will lose their best playmaker at running back and receiver, but they have so much talent that it shouldn't hurt that much... Urban Meyer is going to throw a lot of new things at Nick Saban's defense. I can't wait to watch this game: Power (Bama) vs. Speed (Florida)
Bingo. Losing Harvin sucks, but they have so much depth it wont matter. If Charlie Strong has his defense ready to play, this game wont be all that close.
Just my opinion...Best defense in the nation, Best coach in the nation...Had a hiccup against the Beavers, it happens... They can beat Florida, and only them.
USC can't beat Florida. LoL. Maybe the USC of 3 years ago. Te-blow would push over their entire defensive line.
USC is the only team that can beat Florida. Tebow would have an extremely tough time against the Trojans defense. The only thing that would lose the game for USC would be mistakes on offense. The two best teams in the country are USC and Florida...by far.
I just can't consider the beavers game a hiccup. That whole conference is a hiccup and if they played Florida's schedule they might have finished 9-3.
What do you mean "Florida's schedule?" Dude the SEC was pretty overrated this year outside of Bama/Florida...And Bama didn't overly impress me either. They beat an overrated Clemson and Georgia team, we didn't know that at the time, but they were infact overrated...And struggled mightily against LSU. Georgia? ALL HYPE. LSU - Perilloux killed them, but they weren't good. Tennessee - Right. Ole Miss - Good team. Kentucky - Average Vanderbilt - Nothing Auburn - Flop Arkansas - Nothing South Carolina - Still waiting. And FL played a weak FSU team...Florida had a young/weak Miami team...An awful Hawaii team...And of course the mighty Citadel. So take a step back on the SEC homerism for 2008...It wasn't that good.
