So basically if a player starts punching you in the head, instead of walking away you should defend yourself because you're getting the same fine anyway.
What's funny is the duechefuck that was the 1st to reply not only in one post but multiple posts kept saying "The officials are routing for the Jets...... hey idiot you drive on a route like Route 9 or Route 1. Now root, that's a different thing. I spit my Gatorade reading the National Enquirer worthy posts in that thread......
Anything he did between the whistles- trash talking, dirty or otherwise, was legal.... It takes a particular skill to get under someone's skin like Crowder did... But that doesn't excuse anyone from ripping his helmet off and punching him in the back of the head.... Get real
What a load of crap this really is. If the sides were reversed the league would have publicly apologized for booting the Patriots player and the non-Patriots player would have been sitting for a game or 2.
this is why people think Jets fans are morons, this is the same penalty as it always has been for fighting, there is no conspiracy.
?? I'm not a Jets fan but either way it's still BS to give equal penalties to both parties involved. Crowder getting the same fine as Light screams of favrotism. Light threw the first punch(es) and Crowder never threw any back.
Thephinsider.com wrote an email to the NFL office about this, this is their response What a fucking joke. Verbally instigating? So basically the precedent is set, if someone talks smack to you go ahead and slug it out, you'll both get a little fine and be fine to play next week.
that guy zidane headbutted in the world cup shoulda gotten the boot too. i mean, he verbally instigated him, right?
I have to agree that this is bullshit. There is "verbal instigation" on every play in football. EVERY PLAY! The Pats are let off the hook again.
I guess everyone crying foul on the non-suspension must think that the Bengals and Jags are both NFL favorites as well, seeing as there were no suspensions from the scuffle during their game.
Joke? Fuck that. Run your mouth, get it smacked. The fact that our society places an unnatural premium on physicality is the reason there are so many rude @$$holes running around. There is a line, and the fact that someone is willing to be a jack off because they know they can get away with it is unacceptable. If we are on line in a restaraunt, and I think you cut in front of me, Should it be acceptable to call your wife or mother a C**t? And have no fear of physical reprisal?
The difference is that waiting on line in a restaurant is not playing NFL football. I don't want my football players caged up and bottling things in. They should be out there pouring out their emotions and giving their heart and soul on every play. A lot of things cross the line, but some trash talking and a shove does not. The guy had lost his helmet and Matt Light was up in his face, of course the guy is going to push back. To find the Patriots guy innocent is absurd.
