I've been playing the beta and have enjoyed it quite a bit. I'm suprised. Infinity Ward did not make this one so I thought it would be a stinker along the lines of COD3. Not the case. The game is fun, but is no where near as good at COD4. Some fun additions though, Releasing the dogs instead of a helicopter, Bayonets, Blowing off Limbs! Once I got hit by a bomb and both of my legs blew clean off. I got Lt. Dan'd. It was awesome.
How so, I just heard from someone that the game is awesome. I need specifics so I know whether or not to get the game.....

I just think it's whack. Why go back to WW2? There's no point... it's like having a DVD player and going back to VHS. The gameplay is okay... but some of the shit is crazy. Shotgun to the head... they live and take you out. You die very easily when hit by a machinegun but not a shotty. Knife doesn't seem to work at all... grenades are not effective. I don't know... the game is just not for me at all. I'll be taking it back to Gamestop like Friday.
Not happy they went back to WW2 at all. Without InfinityWard making this one, I'll be waiting for COD6 which will have IW, and from what I've heard, will be a continuation on COD4
A yearly installment of this series is making it the Madden of FPS's. Something about that bothers me.
So.....COD5, Little Big Planet, Resistance 2, Killzone 2, Resident Evil 5, all out or coming out in the next few months.....something's gotta give.
the beta was really good for this. maybe its because i wasn't really into shooters when the ww2 games all came out at the same time, but i have no problem with ww2. as far as online shooters the only ones i have played are socom 2, rainbow six vegas, and cod4. all of those are modern, so for me going to ww2 is actually something new not rehashed.
pretty much if you liked cod4 and dont mind playing in the ww2 setting you will like this game. it plays exactly like cod with a few tweaks like some vehicle maps, and some re-imagining of perks.
I mean this in the nicest way possible, but I think you are insane. This game is as good as COD4. If its the WWII theme that bugs you out, I understand, but I think the gameplay is just as good. I also love the WWII theme...
Not sure how anyone could have gone the last 20 years of gaming without playing ONE WW2 game. I hate the fact that they went back to WW2, but it's still a fun game. ARGH. They got it SO right in COD 4.
