Oh, I completely agree with you. All I was doing was relaying what Big Blocker was saying. I wasn't necessarily agreeing with the sentiment that this isn't a huge game for Denver. But NDmick misunderstood what Big Blocker was saying. That's all.
The difference is that they are spoiled babies. At least Jet fans have something reasonable to bitch about. How many playoff and SB appearances have they had over the past two decades? SB wins? Fuck. Them.
I agree. I don't know, I think our "weak" secondary is an overblown thing. I'm not sure where that started either, but it's sorta getting out of hand. We fended off Cassel with Randy Moss and the rest of his excellent WRs, all the while dealing with that slippery little Wesley Weasel in the middle. Buffalo isn't exactly a pushover either. The Titans, well... their receivers stunk, so I won't use that game, but I don't think our secondary is as weak as some keep on claiming. Kerry Rhodes needs a few big plays but I thin they are coming, And Abram Elam has just been phenominal. And Revis? Come on. Okay, so Lowry has had his moments, but Ty Law shored that up rather effectively and I think it was a brilliant move by Tangini. So how are we so "weak" in the secondary now? Okay, it's not as stout as the rest of our game, but I'm not about to concede it's "weak."
Absolutely! If the Jets can control the ball for 40 minutes vs. a physical defense like the Titans', why wouldn't they gameplan the same for Denver? The Broncos' D is not good. Jets are among the best in the league at controlling the clock and moving the chains.
Bahahaha, I was lurking for a few hours on http://forums.denverbroncos.com/ and I'm clicking to the next page of a thread and get the following message: vBulletin Message Sorry. Call me weird, but i have a feeling that cutler + good receiving corp + good tight end play + good OL is gonna let them score quite a bit. As long as we do too that's fine (and we should, especially if we keep running), but if we don't, it will be high scoring, and therefor potentially closer than a lot of people here seem to think possible.
I don't think they'll be on the field that long though. The offensive game the Jets play now will not allow Denver to control the ball. Plus, with Cutler throwing 50 times, there are more opportunities for INTs... if the Jets get 2 on him and one goes back for 6, teams will be scared to run and pass on the Jets.
This is just playing the numbers. The Jets weakest stat is passing yards allowed. The Jets must be weakest against the pass. I see this as an opportunity for the Jets to step up again and play good pass defense. Mix up the QB pressure and the coverage schemes. We saw that in the first half against the Cardinals. The second half of that game it didn't work so well but it didn't matter as we were scoring rapidly and had a good lead. Every other phase of the game has had their coming of age game. I see this game as a shot for the Jets passing defense to shine. Once we get a lead, we need to pound the ball on the ground and emphasize time of possession. If we do not dominate (33minutes plus) the TOP I will have serious issues with our offensive genius.
I don't think that is true. We have returned a few passes for six this year and done quite well on converting the other turnovers. However, we still are allowing too many passing yards overall. I don't think anyone is afraid to try to pass on us. This week is an opportunity to change that. Get the picks and hold them on yardage. I don't know what the magic number will be but I'll know whether they've done it once I've seen it.
That's hilarious! But admit it, you were there for freedom of expression, and God Forbid you should expose them for the inept douche bags they are. No problem, the Jets will do the talking on the field this Sunday.
Every team has a weakness. The Jets' weakness is pass defense. It's not playing the numbers. Hopefully Law will help shore that up, but I wouldn't be surprised to see Cutler have a big game.
They banned you for lurking? What do they do trace IP addresses and ban you based on geographic location? They must be getting trolled hardcore by NY/NJ peeps
There secondary looks a lot better than it is because of the tremendous pass rush. An approach like we took on the Titans would probably work very well against them.
The reason they have to panic is Mike Shannahan - one of the worst coaches ever to hold a job for any significant time in the NFL.
