    Oh.... no question about it.

Playing against wounded animals is never good. In fact, bad things can come out of nowhere. But it's not like we're playing a 2-9 team that's so wounded they're totally unpredictable.

Shanahan still has the big time pressure to win this game and will undoubtedly throw the book at us, but in doing so I think the execution is going to fail and I'll be looking for turnovers galore.

I think Mangini plays the game with his usual "steady as she goes" plan and lets Favre move the cahins and keep Cutler off the field. After we score some cushion points we pound the ball on the ground. Our defense will be rested after having only played 20 total minutes last week, and, like Revis said, he's not used to winning games while sitting on the bench for so long during the game. This week I expect them to come out and brutalize Denver's offense. My score prediction is conservative if we get up on them early enough. This game could get out of control for Cutler.

this game is going to come down to our pass rush....they can't run so thats out of the question for them...jets need to watch for the wildcat and field reversals....but inevitably if we pressure (not even sack) and collapse the pocket on a regular basis the jets win this in a rout

I can also see TOP being close to what it was last week.

    that's a good point.

however...i thought Atlanta was going to crush Denver....the fact Denver was able to keep it close..let alone win the game..kind of surprised me.

I think the Jets will win....if they have the same focus they did in Tennessee....but complacency is a killer....and the Broncos can't be taken lightly.

very possible...but i do think the jets need to stretch the field early...if we go up on these guys early on they are going to get very discouraged and frustrated...i say stretch the field early and then revert to ball control after we have a 2 TD lead

    Thats the key. No complacency.

I think this team is too confident to be complacent, and I don't think Favre or Mangini are like that. If Mangini were to take one thing away from Belichick, its that you never rest until the season is over.

I pray that he took that trait too.

It can be done.... But is Bailey back in their secondary??

I know they have no pass rush, so the play action can work wonders.... oh, and their LBs are shit - Keller has a 9 catch, 2 TD day on sunday.

bingo...i never said it would be coles...but if you can catch bailey in a zone and motion coles out of that zone hes gonna be open....

i still think you throw it right at bailey very early and deep to show him we think we can beat him ... it will send a message to their entire defense

It's funny that Denver lost to KC and Oakland, because those two teams gave us a hard way to go too, albeit it maybe for different reasons, I don't know.

But consistency... the thing Mangini keeps harping on, I think that's the difference. Denver is not a consistent team right now... haven't been all year, and it's getting worse for them.
We weren't consistent either, for awhile, but it seems like we've found the consistency Mangini keeps ragging on. And the players are buying into it now, even more important. Play smart, play consistent, execute consistently.

We're going to go into that game with quiet confidence and resolve to get the job done. And like I say, if the score gets ugly by the half, then the game will probably turn into a rout and it'll turn into a fun game for them. I don't expect this team to have any major letdown or overconfidence issues though. They all remember what it was like losing to Oakland.

I think the key isn't lightning strikes, just consistent scoring. A couple of 7 minute drive each leading to a TD while forcing the Broncos to go 3-out twice in a row would be devastating to them.

Giving up that many points at home to the Raiders is troubling. Denver's defense sux big time. I am also taking a bit of pleasure in Cutler's struggles after all the spouting off he was doing a few weeks ago, saying he's got a better arm than Elway and other great QBs. So what? Testaverde and Jeff George had great arms as well. Cutler needs to stfu and win games. (hopefully not this weekend though)

Kinda reminds me of the Titan game. I thought I was still watching Chad out there with the dinks and dunks. The thing that's dangerous about Favre is, he does the playfakes and dinks and dunks as well as Chad did, but he's got the deep ball too.

No, Big Blocker said "why is DENVER in a must-win situation?" In other words, since the Chargers lost, nothing changed in their divisional standings and they are still 2 games ahead of SD and in a good position to win the division. Thus, THEY aren't in a must-win situation against the Jets. They can afford to lose. (Although they do have to play in SD the last week of the season)

I'm actually scared for this game. The Broncos have a nasty passing attack, and no running attack. Our run defense will be relatively useless, and our secondary will show its vulnerability when Cutler, Royal, and Marshall pick it apart. Then again, they will not be able to stop us. So, at the end of the day, I think interceptions will decide it. There will be a lot...i repeat...a lot of points scored in this game.

Even if they can "afford to lose", they are not in a good spot. There may be 3 teams with better records than the Broncs that don't make the playoffs this year.

If I was a Denver fan, I'd be in full stage panic mode.

i disagree totally....this will be a game where our Pass Rush will shine, IMO. Cutler won't have time to throw...he'll be doing his best Kellen Clemens impression and scrambling for his life. The only difference...Pace, Jenkins, Thomas, Barton and the secondary won't give him anywhere to escape.

Cutler is a very dangerous guy. Best way to beat Denver is to keep him on the bench. The Raiders only threw the ball 11 times. Jets should take a page out of that book.

I'm not saying only throw 11 times, but pound them up the middle, Denver is 27th against the run. If Favre starts to see them cheating up, he can audible and make them pay deep with Keller or Stuckey.

On defense don't let Cutler beat you deep. Bring pressure, but don't be sending 6-7 guys where you can have the likes of Barret 1 on 1 with people.
