http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/powerranking?season=2008&week=13 3 (6) Jets 8-3-0 Their victory over the previously unbeaten Titans gave them six wins in a row and made them the team to beat in the AFC. (TG) It's five wins in a row, but I do like "team to beat in the AFC" Titans are ahead of us though...
Basically they like the Titans at 2 because they can reestablish the run against Detroit. Give me a break, we destroyed them they are not ahead of the Jets.
F EM...cbs has us at 2...espn is ridiculous...its not like theyre the worldwide leader in sports or anything...
We obviously have to be ranked number 2 after the beating we gave the Titans, along with the fact that, we have won 7 of 8 and 5 in a row.
All I care about is where the Jets will finish at the end of the regular season and when they get to the Super Bowl.
F ESPN. They fellate every team in the Boston area, and this is clearly no exception. First off, they've been saying the Titans just had a bad game all week so far. They have yet to give the Jets any credit for the win. It has basically been promoted as a Titan loss, rather than a Jet win. (Even though they admit the Jets are the team to beat in the AFC now.) But then they go further to say that "The Patriots are one game behind the Jets after drubbing the Dolphins in Miami." Now I don't know about any of you, but I was watching the score on the bottom of the screen all game, and I saw all the cuts from the studio during the Jets game. Until the 4Q, Miami was in the game. The final score may say that the Cheatriots beat up on Miami, but it was pretty clear they didn't if you were paying attention all day. Not to mention, the Massholes were a game behind us after we beat them the week before. F ESPN. Northeastern cocksuckers.
Power Rankings are BS. The only things we need to be worry about are the division, and then home field with a first round bye.
Agreed. Losing to us 20-17 makes their argument. Getting Blown out, at home, outposessed 2-1 in T.O.P. and having your offensive and defensive stregnths taken away (give up 192 OTG, while getting 46) is not a dud. That is completely overmatched.
From a respect POV, did any of you really think ESPN would show the Jets anything but disdain or perhaps at best, a weak acknowledgement of what's happened this season so far? They would much rather spread em for the Giants or NE or ANYBODY else!! Its not where you're ranked, its how you finish..
My main issue with saying that the Titans "just had a bad game" is that the Jets dominated them on both lines of scrimmage and held the ball for over 40 mintues. At one point, thery had a 20 to 5 edge in first downs. I think the Titans managed 88 yards for the first 3 quarters. The Jets pounded them for 192 yards rushing and had doubled them up in yards up until the last possession of the game for Tennessee (the garbage possession when the score was already 34-13). And what is most impressive to me (from a Jets' point of view), is that all of this went on and the Jets turned it over twice and the Titans only turned it over once. Not to mention the fact that the Jets beat the Titans by three touchdowns in their building. The bottom line is, the Jets gave the Titans a beat down. Plain and simple.
Even Jet-hating dumbass Peter King ranked the Jets ahead of the Titans at #2. I don't understand how we can be the "team to beat" yet be ranked behind another AFC team. Ah well. Rankings mean shit anyway.
