There are a lot of things to be happy with today, but the one thing that really stands out to me is the run defense. We haven't had a run-d this good since....well, I can't even remember. The last 20 or so years it seems the Jets have been consistently gashed for big yards on the ground. Obviously, Jenkins makes a huge difference, but the tackling across the board has been outstanding. While, the lack of a great pass rush is a little frustrating, it is more than made up for with opponents consistently facing 3rd and 7 (or longer). Mangini and Sutton have caught lots of grief on this board for their schemes (specifically the lack of a blitz), but it is really hard to criticize them now. Clearly, they are doing something right.

I agree. That's where the games are won, DBJ. Eric Barton played a hell of a game. Plus, our best run stuffing linebacker, arguably, is healing from injury: David Harris.

Let's go Jets. Stay focused. Beat Broncos.

Definitely happy to add my appreciation for the defense today and the run-d specifically. It's so demoralizing to get run over week after week and it has just made the losing these last few years that much excruciating. Great win today guys. Let's enjoy it for a day or two!!

If Law can play better than Lowery this defense is going to get even better. And Harris should make it back before the season ends.

How great was Jenkins running down Chris Johnson from behind, like 7 yards downfield, early in the game (I think it was the 1st or 2nd quarter). What a beast!

I knew coming into today that the run D would make the game for us. They were dominant and it really set the tone.

that is scary, a thumper who stops the run and adds even more of a physical game to the defense is waiting to come back.... holy shit.

Don't forget the OL that allows us to run the ball for the first time in years. Running for more than 200 yatds against that team certainly keyed this win.

absolutely. The analysts all said this game is coming down to who controls the LOS.... the Jets won that by a 2:1 ratio. Thats unheard of in the NFL.

Good point! You'd be happy to lead in time of possession by a 2:1 ratio against any team, but it's amazing to do so against the [formerly] undefeated titans!

Mike Tannenbaum deserves the Medal of Honor and the Nobel Prize for making that trade with Carolina for Jenkins.
