I was just reviewing our 2005 draft class, and the results are rather sad. Anyhow, this was Bradway's final year running our draft, if I'm not mistaken?

    47 2 Mike Nugent 5-10 182 Kicker Ohio State
    57 2 Justin Miller 5-10 202 Cornerback Clemson
    88 3 Sione Pouha 6-3 325 Defensive Tackle Utah
    123 4 Kerry Rhodes 6-2 209 Free Safety Louisville
161 5 Andre Maddox 6-1 205 Safety North Carolina State
    182 6 Cedric Houston 5-10 225 Running Back Tennessee
198 6 Joel Dreessen 6-4 260 Tight End Colorado State
    246 7 Harry Williams 6-3 180 Wider Receiver Tuskegee

I forget why we didn't have a 1st rounder that year (Doug Jolley?), but a number of good players were available, even in the late 1st round, whom we could have used, such as Roddy White, who went #27 to Atlanta.

Kerry Rhodes was a home run, and except for Nugent and Pouha (who haven't lived up to expectations), are any of the other guys still in the league?

Sione Pouha has played with a much higher motor this season. He has had a couple of good PDs and has been generating a good pass rush. He obviously not the man Jenkins is, but he has played well this season.

I think Bradway had plenty to do with the '06 and '07 drafts, but he was getting a wish list from a completely different coaching staff, and probably had somewhat less to do with the actual decision making on draft day. And the wish list didn't include potato salad and grill tongs.

With no first round pick I guess I'm fine with only finding a talent of Rhondes' kind. That draft was weak and Rhodes would have been a top 5 pick if anyone knew the kind of player he would be.

    I agree

Pouha has had a very nice season. Jenkins is so dominating that any DT not named Haynesworth is going to look like a scrub replacing him.

I don't know, CJ Mosely has been pretty feriocious in spot duty the past few weeks. Kudos to Namath2Kolber for washing his balls this offseason.

The first round pick was traded for Doug Jolley and (the 2nd round pick we used on) Nugent if I remember correctly.

Yikes. We all tried to talk ourselves into thinking that was a good deal because the Jets really needed a big pass-catching TE for Chad and Nugent would be solid for the next decade.

Oh well...you win some, you lose some.

Cedric Houston wasn't a bad player. i'm not sure what happened in his personal life to cause him to retire, but when he was here, it was him and Kevan Barlow and i thought Houston played pretty well.

he pretty much burned out of the sport. It was an odd occurrence. I wish him all the best.

It was a GM rape. Thats all it was. Bradway is a soft man, and he was talked into bullshit.

Nice to see Pouha get some props. He's a good backup NT.

Remember how badly everyone wanted Heath Miller and we got Doug friggin Jolley instead?

Imagine Miller with Keller...or don't...but it'd be sweet.

That was a shit draft...here's the top 10 picks:

    Alex Smith
    Ronnie Brown
    Braylon Edwards
    Cedric Benson
    Cadillac Williams
    Adam Jones
    Troy Williamson
    Antrel Rolle
    Carlos Rogers
    Mike Williams

Theres some good players...but the best two players in the first round came right after (Ware and Merriman). 11, 12, and 13 went Ware, Merriman, and Brown, the Saints PB LT. After that only D. Johnson and Luis Castillo were impact players from Day 1.

Thats one late blooming draft class...guys like Rolle, Rogers, Edwards, A. Rogers, Campbell, White, and Jackson all broke out either this year or last year. Guess that goes to show right...

If a team could get just 1 all pro every draft, it is not a bust draft.

I remember it came out after we drafted him that he had a thyroid condition, I wouldn't rule out his health.

    Rhodes was a home run.

The Doug Jolley trade was a bad one.

Miller proved to be nothing more then a good kick returner (did go to the pro bowl for it) but was a horrible CB.

Nugent has been an ok kicker who is still young.

Pouha has played well this season and if I remember correctly was hurt a lot early on.

Maddox, Dreesen, and Williams all did nothing

Cedric Houston is a weird thing because he retired. He looked like he was going to be able to be a solid backup RB but he left football. Thats not Bradway's fault.

In the end it was a bad draft but the Kerry Rhodes pick was a great one.

Mosley has been playing well. I always liked the kid. I was hoping the Jets would get him when he came out. Glad they didn't. It appears it took him a few years to mature.

CJ has been playing both back up NT, and DE. It seems to me a lot of the plays he has made came when he was a DE.

That is good news. Ellis is one of my favorite players, but he can't last forever.
