I like the matchup you describe. I had forgotten McCareins was even still in the league. Good God, are these people serious? They really start this guy? I don't even think we need to waste Revis' talent watching him... Ty Law would be sufficient. There's also a good possibilty we'll get David Harris 10 days from now, so that would be a plus. I know these guys are undefeated, but I'm not sure against which teams (their W-L strength) and by what score. Being 9-0 doesn't show much if you've been beating up on teams that are less than 500. Maybe somebody could dig that up too.
Sun 9/7 * Jacksonville *W 17-10 *Sun 9/14 *at Cincinnati *W 24-7 *Sun 9/21 *Houston * W 31-12 *Sun 9/28 *Minnesota *W 30-17 *Sun 10/5 *at Baltimore *W 13-10 *bye *Sun 10/19 *at Kansas City *W 34-10 *Mon 10/27 *Indianapolis *W 31-21 *Sun 11/2 *Green Bay *W 19-16 *Sun 11/9 *at Chicago *W 21-14 Game 1 - 1st game of the season. Jacksonville without key personnel. Game 2 - Cincinatti. nuff said. Game 3 - Houston. Divisional game. Tenessee owns them anyway. Game 4 - Gus Ferrotte's 1st or 2nd start for the Vikings. Haynesworth went off. Titans roll. Game 5 - Joe Flacco on offense. Ray Lewis on defense. Game 6 - KC after the bye week. nuff said. Game 7 - Huge NE type win. Colts run offense and run defense were furloughed that day. Game 8 - Huge win. Hard fought. Banged up QB no run offense. Game 9 - Huge win. Hard fought. Back up QB. Marginal WR's. Bottom line. Jets are the best team they've faced thus far on both sides of the ball. Throw in the time to prepare and the divisional game this weekend, Jets are sitting in the driver's seat. The Jets are actually the favorite, even though it may not look like that in Vegas. We match up very well. ESPECIALLY with Haynesworth banged up and possibly not available.
Thanks for your opinion and for finding the info. Now if we can get Harris back we might have a chance.
Plus they play in light blue pyjamas. Using our old name. With Justin McCarriens on the roster. Won't even be close.
Well My thought is very much this. If the Titans are without Haynesworth, and the Jets get Harris back, I think we run the ball with no second thoughts, and we kick their ass. Time to get healthy over the next ten days, rest up. And prepare well. We will have to come out of the gates with some offensive trickery against the titans to open stuff up early. I honestly think in a hard fought game, where its a defensive battle, the Jets win, simply because we have more offenisve fire power. We have a great change of pace group at RB, the titans is better, but we no question have better recievers, and a better recieving TE in Keller. I don't know enough about the OL of Tennesee, but no doubt we have the better QB in Favre. So we at worst case scenario are even on the running game perspective, and our passing attack is better, and can just out last Tennessee, and out score them if we have to.
LOL.... Yeah, the light blue jammies are bad enough but having McCareins on the roster is downright scary. WTF is with them?
Talk about underestimating a team. Where do you guys get your info btw? Haynesworth is not hurt, Vanden Bosch is: http://assets.sbnation.com/assets/41289/11thurs.JPG
I don't know, I don't take 9-0 teams lightly and a team with a nasty rushing attack. Last week their rushing attack got shutdown and Collins threw for almost 300 yards. After watching the Jet pass defense all of this year (not just last night) you cant tell me this is a walk over. After saying all of that I haven't even touched on their defense who I'm pretty sure is first at creating turnovers specifically interceptions. Favre played great football last night but even you have to admit that was against a banged up defense. Great win last night but comparing the Pats to the Titans is apples and oranges. That game will be a hard fought physical game.
I was concerned about last night...... big time. I feel the JETS match up better vs the Titans and should WIN! I also think their streak comes to an end @ Jacksonville on Sunday.
The Patriots with all there injuries scare me more then the Titans. I don't by any means think it will be a walk in the park against the Titans but I do feel more confident heading into that game compared to the Pats game. It really is amazing in this age of the NFL what the Titans have accomplished up to this point in the season. They really aren't all that talented of a team, to be undefeated this late in the season with good not great talent is a true testament to the job Jeff Fisher and his CS are doing, he is a great HC. They are due to lose at some point, I expect the Jets to hand them their first or second loss of the season.
we figure out how to stop their front 4....we have a great chance of winning this game. The other dimension to the Titans' game is their run offense...which we've proven we can handle.
Unlike the Patriots, who we play regularly, we don't know this team very well. But they have the same disadvantage in not having studied us. If anything, we get the edge in preparation because we get to look at them a lot longer than they get to look at us. We'll also have several days rest on them. Should be a very interesting game.
I hadn't thought about this. Eye opening. The rest of their schedule is: 13 Nov 27 TEN @ DET 14 Dec 07 CLE @ TEN 15 Dec 14 TEN @ HOU 16 Dec 21 PIT @ TEN 17 Dec 28 TEN @ IND The Pit game is another tough one for Tenn. The game @ Indy could be an interesting one if Indy is still in the wild card hunt at that point. The Jets really do have a significant change to influence the outcome of the AFC seedings.
Except, we also lead the league in sacks. jets D > chicago D Favre > Collins Jenkins > Haynesworth. The Jets are clearly the better team and will be coming off the long rest.....
