To all the Chad lovers who want to throw out outlandishly overrated stats like QB rating and completion percentage (stats that, in essence, miss the point of what makes a great quarterback great) when saying that they would prefer to have Chad over Favre, I pose two questions to you (these are not meant to be rhetorical musings, please respond INTELLIGENTLy AND HONESTLY):

    1) When Gostkowski’s 47 yard field goal tied the score with 10:16 left in the fourth quarter (and with all the momentum firmly in the hands of the pats), do any of you people really believe that Chad would have driven us the length of the field and stuck it in the endzone to go up by 7 with 3 minutes to play???? (Even allowing for the fact that the drive was anchored by the offensive line and the very underrated Jets' running game)

    2) Getting the coin toss in overtime (with all the momentum, AND THEN SOME, firmly in the hands of the Pats), do any of you really believe that Chad drives us down the field for a game winning 34 yard field goal attempt? In particular, do any of you actually think Chad converts the 3rd and 15 strike to Keller? And in all honesty, do any of you care to tell me that Chad is even physically capable of making that across-the-body throw to Coles over the middle, the throw that put us firmly in field goal range?

Your thoughts, ladies and gentlemen . . .

Chad Pennington and I liked him would have thrown a pick in OT or went 3 and out. If it wasnt for FAVRE we would have never won the game...:jets:

    Why are you doing this?

    What is the point?

Why do you even want to hear the responses you get?

Are you just trolling, or what?

Here's the deal: Chad is a good QB. Brett is a good QB. Chad plays for Miami now. Brett plays here now. End of story. Please, then, if the story's done, then keep the d@mn book shut already!

I'm an admitted chad lover, but this is honestly the first game we wouldnt have won with chad. Youre completely correct...without Favre, we lose that game.

I am a Pennington fan. I always will be a Pennington fan. But, there is no doubt that Pennington could not have made that throw to Keller. There is no doubt that Pennington could have made that throw to Coles. And, there is no doubt that some people just have something special -- Favre has it.

As a separate matter, did anyone else notice who the first person Favre jumped with at the sight of Feely's game winning field goal? The other Brett -- Ratliff. Ratliff is going to be a keeper. For now, he is soaking in as much of Favre as possible. One example: Favre ran to help T. Jones up after a goalline run when no OLinemen were around to life the UVA product from the ground. Even the great HOF QB help his RB up after a tough run.

Well I have avoided this topic but since it pops up everywhere I might as well weigh in.

I am behind Farve 100% and give him big props for a solid game last night. IMO that was his best game of the year - not one of the blowouts. It was his best because he managed the game when we needed him to.

    But lets be real.

When was the last time Chad had an O line like what we got now. Or a running game like we got now. If Farve came to the Jets last year would we have beat NE?

Beyond that, in the coming weeks Chad is going for a season sweep of the patsies. Season sweep! WIth a less talented team.

SO all those saying he could not have done what Brett did last night are kind of compairing apples to oranges.

DO I think Chad could have done it - yes.

Am I glad Farve was the one that did it - yes.

He's only trying to make the point that Favre is better than Chad. There have been 417 threads on the subject and he felt like making it Thread # 418.

Jesus christ, we're gonna get to 500 threads about Chad vs. Brett before Brett gets to 500 TDs, at this rate!

2004 we had a great OL and better running attack and Chad was healthy. 5 and 0 we went to NE and put up 1 score.

Never did I ever expect there to be so much love for Chad when I first joined this site. I don't get it. Has the QB play for the Jets been so poor since Namath that you guys are this hung up on Pennington?

We can talk about it. He was our QB for years and years. This year, in effect, we traded him for Favre. THerefore, anything Favre does a Jets fan thinks....Would Chad have done that?..Could Chad have done that? Packer fans that parachuted in here with Favre and will call for a chopper to extract them out when Favre retires just have to deal with this.

haha, no i am not "trolling" (i think that term is so fucking stupid btw)

All I did was ask a few questions. The fact that no one has been able to say "YES" to any of them (especially keeping in mind that someone could easily post it without really meaning it), should tell you all you need to know.

It looks like we're coming from the same place, but I've maybe been here a touch bit longer, so let me give you the lay of the land: These guys (aka: "darksiders") only love their players after they leave their team. You might say they are the anti-Packers fans (who seem to love them while they're there, then heap the hate on when they leave -- not just Favre, but Sharper, Longwell, Bennett, Freeman, Levens, even Reggie a little I remember, after he unretired).

But these Jets fans? While the players are are here they b%tch and moan incessantly that they are not perfect, inhuman robots that get a first down or interception on every play. But once they leave, they can do no wrong. It's not just Pennington it seems to be others, like Vilma. It just happens to be Pennington that is the most recent departure that has hooked up somewhere else. Just wait, someone will sign Ben Grahmam and then we'll get a deluge of threads on how great he is

Were we playing the 2004 Superbowl Champion Patriots last night?

What? We were 5-0 with Chad? How did that happen?

"All you did" was ask questions that were already asked eight thousand times in only slightly different terms, and someone else already effectively answered yes to sixteen thousand times.

I am really really not looking forward to the 16,001st go-around of this. It is pointless and stupid. My question to you was: so WHAT if someone would answer yes. Why would you or I or anyone else WANT to know that they are stuck in that rut? Why do you have try to PUSH then back into that rut if they might've finally been working their way out of it if you just leave them alone and don't make them get all defensive all over again?

    This is pointless and stupid.

I don't think it's so underrated anymore. Ever since week 4 it has been very good. I doubt anybody expected Jones to run for 100 yards last night,
