The Pats D is old and slow. And freaking smart. Ty Law is old and slow too, but that doesn't make him a bad player. I'll take football smarts over athletic prowess every time. The Pats D is as good as ever, regardless of age, and everyone knows it.
Law wasnt on the team after the 19-10 loss that " made them sick to their stomachs." Try, try, try again.
No it's not...it just helped in a major way. Very rarely is a football game, or any game really, lost on one play. If that was true, then that Week 2 performance was better than most here would admit or something. Week 2 was lost thanks to getting dominated on special teams and losing something like 70 yards to penalties...not to mention a few Coles drops that could have went for first downs and maybe/probably more. Thats probably not happening today. And every play with Favre is an invite for an INT...thats how he rolls...it's also an invite to catch your opponents off balance...or a way to substitute for a running game that may not be working...it's why it's a fairly common play in todays NFL.
If we want to speculate as to who said it, I go with Coles or Faneca. I can pretty much eliminate everybody else on offense for one reason or another.
Coles? Man get out of here. I highly highly doubt it was LC. I can not remember him running his mouth about another team.
I wouldn't. You need some athletic prowess. I would never suit Stephen Hawking up for a game, but I am certain he could be the best in football smarts if he really wanted to be. I don't like extremist statements on either side of the coin. Obviously a guy with athletic ability but zero football IQ is going to stink too. I would take Kris Jenkins. A frightening fusion of football intelligence, size and athleticism. He is the one that will take us to the promised land. Chuck Norris fears Kris Jenkins.
Let's get something straight... we all love Kris Jenkins... but Chuck Norris fears no man and no animal...
When the Boogeyman goes to sleep every night, he checks his closet for Chuck Norris. When Chuck Norris goes to sleep every night, he checks his closet for Kris Jenkins.
A combo of the two is always the best. Look at Matt Jones, Vernon Gholston, and Dewayne Robertson. All were decent football players in college, where it is possible to get by on athletic talent. They shot up the draft boards because of their combine scores, and all three, IMO, are total busts (I'll gladly eat crow if Gholston pans out, but I don't think he will). When someone says the Pats D is old and slow, they are right, but that doesn't mean they are bad.
None of those guys are total busts...that fucking "B" word is thrown around so much that it's just become a word to use. Jones has been the Jaguars best WR by far this year, and is on pace to top 1,000 yards.
