We MUST beat the Pats. This is a chance to prove to everyone that we can beat teams in the clutch. For all intents and purposes this is a championship game for us. We win, we take the division, we lose and we let the Pats control their own destiny.
Not a must win? Yes, it IS a must win and it's a must win for many different reason other than an additional victory. If we win on Thursday we go into a long weekend resting for the Titans with a huge amount of confidence. We can shake off the same old Jets mentality. We can take control of the division and control our destiny. This is a must win if we are going to go anywhere this season.
Dude....Dr. Phil has time for u now.... -So how long have u been feeling this way ? -What does ur mommy say ? -Did mommy & daddy take u 2 the park as a child? -Did they lt u play with the other kids ? -Did they let u play on the swings ? -Do they still hold ur hand when u cross the street? -How does that make u feel ?
I disagree....It would be a nice win ....but a win here or a win over the Titans is more neccessary. 1 of 2 is nice, 2 of 2 is better. Easy does it ...crouching tiger.
Out of the two I'm taking the divisional win and the psychological advantage it gives us going down the stretch of the season. I think it's crazy not to think this is a must win for us.
Not its not. The Titans are not a divisional opponent. That alone makes this the bigger game. Add in avenging the previuos loss and gettign a stpe up in the AFC east and this is the biggest game of the year.
Must win if we want the division, period. When was the last time we swept our divisional road games? 3-1 in the division with 2 home games remaining almost guarantees us the division as we would own every conceivable tie breaker. Go 0-2 against the Pats and tieing their record, say at 11-5, could mean not just no division, but no playoffs.
I think the Patriots are just that one team. Every athlete knows that for whatever reason their is just that one guy/team that no matter how you are playing, or how much better you are than them, for some reason, it's always a battle. When it comes to Tennis for me, one of my best friends and I play all the time, he has never once failed to beat me, I have just flat out dominated guys that beat him easily, and we both know I am a better player than he is, but for some reason I can never get over the hump and actually beat him. My thought is that it is just some kind of mental block stopping me from beating him. I think it's the same way with the Jets, they have a mental block when it comes to New England, because they have beaten up on them for years, and until they put it aside, they won't actually be able to beat the Pats.
There is a place. Their is possession. They are (They're) is a state of being. This game is much more important than next week. If we lose this week we have lost the head-to-head tiebreaker for the division, or even a wild card. If we lose this week and win next week, even assuming a cheats loss to the fish. We would be down to NE in the standings with a need to end up with a better record at the end of the season. This game is HUGE in comparison with the Titans game. Face it, if we lose this weekend is going to suck.
It's not a must win: But it is a game in which we need an extremely solid showing. The mistakes of week 2 cannot be repeated. If they stop the run twice inside the 5, might want to consider giving #4 a crack at it. It's what he's there for.
We lose this game come Monday the first WC spot might be Baltimores at 7&3and we could be in a 3 way tie for the last playoff spot with Buffalo, Miami and Indy. By the end of the following week we could be talking about a very tough Jax and SD team in the mix with us Buffalo, Miami and Indy. Thursdays game might well be an elimination game for us if we lose and follow that up with a loss in TN the following week. This game should be looked at as an elimination playoff game.
If the season were to end next Tusday the loser of the NE/NY game would have a 4-4 conference record and be out of the playoffs, assuming all of the rest of the favorites win. The loser of this game needs help to get in the playoffs with six games to go.
Maybe you secretly hope to become more than friends? Next time use a racket and not flowers. :rimshot: Sorry...I saw the door open...thought I'd walk in...hope no actual offense is taken.
