Gaffney? Welker? Personally, I don't think he's got the speed to cover Welker, so I see him starting opposite Revis covering Gaffney. Gaffney isn't a speed receiver, but he runs good routes and has great hands. Or...do they put him on Ben Watson? Discuss.
Dont tell me to discuss Ill discuss what I want to! Sorry Im cranky today.......Hopefully Law is covering the bench on Thursday cause I have no faith in him at this point. Then again, Im not a head coach of a football team so hopefully Mangina knows something I dont. I just remember how he played the last time he was a Jet, he was slow and looked old. He had a couple of INTs but just about all of them came right to him on over/under thrown balls.
I was kind of hoping they would rotate him in all defensive positions on the field, but you may be right. DE might just be the only position he may not do very well in.
I'm not sure how I feel about this signing yet, but I'd love to see his coverage skills at the safety position. Just quit with the PI penalties, Ty.
I'm thinking free safety as well. It covers up his lack of speed at this stage of his career and allows him to ball-hawk.
With Elams emergence I don't see why they'd want to put him at safety. Though, Elam isn't so hot in coverage he has been a play maker. I'd be surprised if he sees much PT Thursday, but stranger things have happened. My guess is that he'll be eased in as at the nickel spot and eventually move to #2 CB and slide Lowery into the Nickel.
I was actually thinking the same thing about Elam. I wouldn't mess with something that's been working out pretty well in the last 2 weeks that's why I ruled safety out as a possibility. I wouldn't be surprised if they used him on Watson tho. If he's brought in to try to cover Welker, we're gonna be in for a long, long night. Or maybe just on 3rd downs keep an eye on Faulk.
he is fresh and he is very experienced, down the stretch that will help our young secondary, i realy think they can learn a thing or two from this guy... if he doesnt pan out we cut him. no big deal. more of a upside than a downside if u ask me
Guys, thur he will be the nickle back. Replacing Coleman in that role. The reasoning? He doesn't obviously know the full defensive scheme, but when it comes to man to man, he can do well, and that is often what the nickle back does. We'll see. He's mos tlikely an upgrade over Coleman, at least. I can't complain about upgrading a position that plays a significant role in games. I think things will be alright.
