I have been critical of D'Brick but short of calling him a b--t. People have used the LG as an excuse but if you re-watch games you'll see he failed too often on his own. -He is now entering his 3rd Full season. -Faneca is now there. -We have a Few more TE's and a Excellent blocking FB to chip. Considering we may go downfield means he needs to give the QB even more time and I'm hoping D'Brick doesn't get Favre D'cleated and D'killed. This is it for D'Brick. I'm Hoping he steps up cause I really don't want to use the B-word.
Dude, I've been thinking the same thing. I'm hoping and praying that this oline let alone Brick protect Favre in every possible way. What a joke if he were to come here and get sacked like 50 times. I hoping the Brett mystique gets in all their heads and they play lights out for the HOF'r.
you're right, but I think he'll also give up less sacks because Favre is so good at getting rid of the ball,
Ah...statements like this...where to start: - If the LG thing is/was an excuse, why did we just go out and pay top dollar for a big name LG? - How much is too often? Did you...say...watch other LT's and compare D'Brick performance to their own? - Which tackles did your compare him too? Pro Bowlers? Everyone? I mean I agree with your overall point...but it's just that D'Brick gets ALOT of shit for a guy whose started 33 games at LT in the friggin NFL...in the friggin AFC...in the friggin AFC East...like...WTF people really act like he's been dirt for us because he isn't at the Pace/Jones level yet. It is a put up or shut up year for D'Brick...but anyone who's *really* paid attention to this guy so far could see he'll probably put up. Ask Jason Taylor about D'Brick skillz.
Nice! Last week D'Brick got beat a few times but D'brick played a great game today as did the rest of the O-line... Good to see him still improving. I'm hoping it's all good from now on...
I'm thinking you might have meant Brandon Moore instead of Dbrick. The Jets never run to his side and it seems most of the pressure on Farve also comes from his side. Instead of the LG, perhaps we should be talking about the RG.
 That's true but that didn't seem to happen today. I haven't re-watched it yet...so I can't really comment on his failures if any this week. In Pass protection he looked fine from what I saw @ the game. Hard to say vs the run til it get's watched....
The LT position is the hardest position for college players entering the NFL to learn to a T...It's a rough position and it's an importand position. A franchise LT must be the hardest player to find. Most LT's dont even get a chance to start until their 3rd or 4th years in the league...Just the fact that Ferguson has been a starter since his rookie year is amazing and in todays NFL...It's rare. Ferguson has actually played great this year...He's really turning into the type of player that we drafted him to be with the 4th overall pick
I agree with almost everything except that part. Good but not Great. He still has had a few instances this year that make you say Mutha Fu*! but has definitely improved. Has he turned that corner that makes him worth a #4?.. NO. Simply because a Franchise LT (Yes a Difficult position) does in consistently. Can he Still become that? Absolutely and as you say he is showing signs in that direction.
I'm failing to remember those moments where D'Brick made me scream at him. I've spent more time screaming at Favre honestly...I think he's been behind more of his sacks than we have...but thats part of the payoff with him I guess.
There hahs been a couple times this year, but for the most part he's been very good. His biggest problem is he was drafted #4. He was never projected to be the next Ogden, but was simply the best LT in his draft class. Was a good pick at the time and still looks like a good one today.
Yup, and if he's a 10 year starter, thats more than fine with me... He gets better every year, but the masses continue to want want want, but they don't get it.
D'Brick has definitely taken a step forward this year. The guy has been good in pass protection, and good in the running game. I think that we're getting that third year jump from his that is so often talked about with new players coming into the NFL.
even if he made a few bad plays this year, which i really dont remember anything too terrible. wtf is he supposed to do? not give up a sack for the entire year? that would be like a qb NEVER throwing an interception, not gonna happen. this kid has been very good the past 2 years, he was good before that, people need to stop beating him up just because he was a #4 draft pick. shit more people beat this poor kid up for NOTHING than beat up others who do NOTHING. its quite amazing to see him beat up since his rookie year when he was out there playing decently, but yet everyone is an aplogist for gholston who barely even plays.
D'Brick has been Solid so far. He's gone from a C- to a B+ Although it's been against some weak ass opponents except for week 2 when he got beat a few times by the Pats linemen although I don't believe he gave up a sack. If we are going to succeed vs the Pats he really needs to step it to the next level for this game and control his position. He was driven back a few times that game where it affected the play and was just pwned on the goalline. Time for him to become that A-/A+ !!!! Lock em up Brick!
I can't remember a bad game from Brick yet this year. I've been very pleased with the way he's played so far. He'll be tested this week though.
My sons theory is while not dominant but serviceable you can not consider him a true bust. My son says use the term semi bust for him
Your son sounds about as knowledgeable as you(not a compliment.) DBrick is developing into a superstar, a franchise LT in the making.
