I believe in 1968, the Jets were 3-2 and then lost out in Oakland (The infamous Heidi Game). They were getting hammered in the papers for blowing that game and falling to 3-3. They then won their last eight regular season games, beat Oakland for the AFL crown and, of course, the Colts. If history repeats itself, the Oakland loss can once again turn around this franchise.
We lost our 3rd and final game to oak but it wasn't in week 6 it was the 10th game and dropped us to 7-3.
I think you guys are getting very technical here but let me explain myself. I wasn't referring to the team but rather the year they won the Super Bowl. Thus, they won it in 1969 and they will win it in 2009.
Yes, that should be added to the list. Excellent point. Also, the year 1969 was a year of change and with the presidential election this is a similar year in terms of the greater American culture and politics.
Did you see Favre leaving the field after his interview and heading for the tunnel and raising his hand like Joe Willie did after the 1969 Super Bowl win. He didn't raise his finger he's saving that for the 2009 Super Bowl. P.S. Don't freaking respond saying it's 2008 again. It's the 2008 season but we'll win the Super Bowl in 2009. They don't say the 1968 jets they say the 1969 Super Bowl Champions!!!!!!!
